Re: [TV orNotTV] 'Knives Out 2' Coulda Been Big BO if Netflix Had Let It

2022-11-30 Thread 'David Bruggeman' via TVorNotTV
I went to a theater to see Glass Onion last night.  The 7:10 screening was
probably half full, which I consider strong for a Tuesday in the first week of
an under-advertised film.
As for the film, I think if you enjoyed Knives Out that you will likely enjoy
Glass Onion.  I can understand why people are thinking that Netflix is leaving
money on the table with the theatrical screening strategy.

[TV orNotTV] Chinese TV Covers Up World Cup Crowd Shots to Calm COVID Lockdown Protests

2022-11-30 Thread Mark Jeffries
As many Chinese people protest over the belief that the government is being
too strict on pandemic prevention while the rest of the world seems to have
moved on, CCTV has been replacing world feed shots of maskless FIFA World
Cup fans in Qatar with closeups of players and officials in an attempt to
beat down these protests:

However, "Jeopardy!" has always used the King James Version as their Bible

I also enjoyed the tournament. Some of that might come from the appearances
of several all time champions. I also prefer the first to three wins over
the two games total points.

One thing I didn’t get was Amy’s low wagers in Final on Thursday and
Friday. It got explained on the podcast. Andrew had two wins and she was
wagering to shut him out of a third win. If it meant that she’d lose to Sam
it was okay with her since the tournament would continue and she’d get
another chance.

They also addressed the Letter to the Hebrews. Sarah said the researchers
ran it by a seminarian and got approval for it. She also said when they use
the Bible in a category they always specify the King James Version where
the chapter is called Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews. Of course in this clue
they didn’t specify the KJV and that could make the clue ambiguous.

There has to be some lesson here: these people became famous 54 years ago
and found a way to monetize that fame for decades. Still, they can’t find a
way to put old grudges to bed and be at peace with each other.
