I listened to the interview. The backstory is that Chase’s daughter plays
piano at the Comedy Store and she has been after Maron to interview her
father. He knew it would probably be difficult but he has to find guests
while the strikes are on.

The strange thing with Chase is that he doesn’t have banquet stories. In
the pre-podcast days the way celebrities dealt with the public was by being
invited to banquets. And each celebrity had a story or two to tell
(prepared in advance and usually coached) about their life. That’s the sort
of thing that could get an introvert through a talk show segment. Someone
with a show business history like Chase should have a ton of these stories
and Chase never bothered developing any for public speaking or interviews.
A lot of times Maron would ask Chase about how a life changing event
happened and Chase would just say he doesn’t remember.

Yup - Naked Attraction is still going strong. I don't think there's much
pretence that it exists for any reason apart from to gawp at naked people.
They might put a sheen of body-positivity or LGBTQ+ friendliness over the
top, but that's spin.

My suspicion would be that it'll do incredibly well for Max to the point
that in the not too distant future they'll commission a US version. It's an
insanely cheap format:  a minimal set, and a filmed meal for the winners.
The only real "cost" is finding people that are happy to have themselves
filmed nude full in the knowledge that episodes will air forever more.
