I try to not buy used copies of books that are new (or even older books
still in print) if I can avoid it. I prefer for my money to go to the
content creators as much as possible.

I’m about 1/4 of the way through the book so far. The content is quite
enjoyable: short essays, sketches, poems/songs, and other randomness from
Adams, along with “letters to Douglas” from his friends (the Stephen Fry
one was perfection). My one bit of constructive criticism is the book is
either not professionally typeset or not typeset very well, which,
considering how pedantic Douglas Adams was about fonts, spacing, kerning,
etc., is a bit disappointing. But it’s a small criticism considering the
substance of the book.

It was funded via crowdfunding, and I was fortunate enough to get along to
a launch event at the British Library a few weeks ago. It is indeed a
lovely book, with lots of previously unpublished writing.

And a familiar name can be found on page 304 amidst the thousands of
funders who paid for their copy in advance :-)

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy author and compiled them into a
yearbook-sized tome, one copy of which just arrived on my doorstep this
morning. I was looking forward to settling down to read it while enjoying a
pumpkin spice pastry purchased yesterday at Porto’s, but the ants beat me
to the pastry. Nevertheless, Douglas Adams was one of the greats, and a
