[twitter-dev] Are search results ordered by creation date?

2010-07-12 Thread Harshad RJ
Hi,

I just noticed that some search queries have results that seem to be in

Based on a few sample queries, it looks like popular queries (such as for

less popular ones are either unordered or descending order.

Is there any order guaranteed by the search API?

[twitter-dev] What do the attributes represent in a geo place lookup for a city

2010-07-12 Thread Ryan W
For example:

Place lookup for Portland, OR:
http://api.twitter.com/1/geo/id/ac88a4f17a51c7fc.json

Returns as part of the result:

attributes:{162772:pop100:529121,162772:place_id:4159000}

What does the 162772 signify? I believe the 162772:pop100
represents population from 2000 census (I'm saying 2000 based on spot
checking a couple of cities). But, will this 162772 change?

What does the place_id represent? It's not a woeid, and it's
different than the twitter place_id (or is it? maybe the place_id in
the URL is a hash of this?)

Thanks!

e.g.: http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=politicsuntil=2010-07-11

browser (for the same tweet) says 12.07.2010 00:59.
I'm calling from Germany so probably something already calculates
the date to human readable ... ?

Second one is:

Is this from your own app that you wrote using the API? I'm not sure I
understand what the problem is - for a specific account, you get an
error when you try to post with any hashtag? Because that really
doesn't seem to make sense. Does it work from Twitter.com for that
 account?

Hello Pascal.

It's not the case that our account is disabled. Or is there a hidden
message that is saying account disabled?

Michael
