On a suggestion request (for Twitter, not necessarily the API) would it be possible to e-mail people indicating that they have started following a particular Twitter User? Perhaps he's someone famous in another service and simply asked people to follow him. Or maybe he has a mailing list with thousands of subscribers and simply said, "Hey, I'm on Twitter - follow me at ..." There's nothing wrong with asking people to follow you! -- M. Does the auto following perhaps have something to do with some viral marketing campaign that requires following on Twitter, or asks for Twitter credentials?
