When I changed my username from @poseurtech to @abraham all of the @replies continued to point to my user_id. My assumption is you will still see the tweet as the @reply seems to be tied to accounts not usernames. Non-confirmed @replies will still be seen by all. Confirmed @replies, or those with in_reply_to_status_id set, will only be seen by mutual followers.
