[TYPO3-english] Re: Moving a site

2017-05-25 Thread George Brooks

VM installed; directories created, files uploaded.

After loading an archive copy of the database and working through a large set of permission errors and database issues I can get to a List view with File Storage, fileadmin having what appear to be acceptable properties.

Site appears as expected.

Now to do this at the new host!

Thanks for your assistance.

I'm going to wait until I can get at the database. Turns out the db is stuck
in some level of v4 and cannot be exported by phpmyadmin or dumped from the
command line. The host will, presumably, create a v4 dump and send it to me.
We'll see...

hmm, id=0 under "List"-View must be a "File Storage" with (default one) folder
"fileadmin"!
Did you looked in the "Install-Tool"? there you can test your system and you
there should be all green. (with exceptions)

[TYPO3-english] Re: Moving a site

2017-05-23 Thread George Brooks

The src file is above ../public. ../public includes the symlinks.

The installation is highly suspect. The site became inaccessible when the host
did an unannounced PHP upgrade in March. I was the only technically literate
person available to deal with the situation and I was totally unfamiliar with
Typo3. It was a major scramble to get the site upgraded to a marginally
functional 6.2. With this background:

List view of id = 0 says nothing about fileadmin or anything else. Filelist
tells me there are permission errors which I assume need to be resolved. I'm
going to experiment on a VM to put together a procedure.

first: where is Typo3 installed? public/typo62 or public?

and what say the root page? (id=0 under "List"-View at the backend? if there
are both folders then you need both folders :)
In doubt try it out. :)

Thanks immensely.

There are two instances of ../fileadmin with largely identical contents:
../public/fileadmin & ../public/typo62/fileadmin. My guess is that the
../typo62/fileadmin can go. Good guess?

2017-05-23 Thread Christian Hackl

You do not need the whole folder "typo3temp" only a empty one :)

Files and folders you need:

- fileadmin
- typo3conf
- uploads
- (empty) typo3temp
- a typo3 source e. g. typo3_src-6.2.30 and symlinks to it (typo3_src, typo3,
index.php)

Database backup.

Files and folders you don't need:

- _*
- *temp*
- *processed*

I'd also like to exclude/trash, if possible, these:

/public/typo62/fileadmin/_temp_
