[TYPO3-english] TYPO3 - ORACLE
Hello TYPO3 community, for our current project its a must have to get TYPO3 running in association with an ORACLE database and the TYPO3 extension TemplaVoila. In addition it is necessary to run it on TYPO3 version 4.5.8 or lower (due to the required PHP-Version). Till now we didnt solve this by ourselves so we are looking for an experienced TYPO3 developer who can setup a working installation based on the given requirements. Be assured - youll get well paid! Add Templavoila to it and you have a drama and not a romance. If you place them on an old stage like php 5.2 then you wont make it a classic but a box-office desaster. Add some more to cast list like DAM, Versions and Workspaces and you have a japanese godzilla movie full of destruction. /rant My 5 cents here: Drop Oracle as a requirement. It will save you lots of money implementing stuff all over again. Dont forget those Oracle DBAs can get MySQL support from a company called Oracle. In addition it is necessary to run it on TYPO3 version 4.5.7 or lower (due to the required PHP-Version). Status quo: The PHP version is 5.3.5 and Im using the ORACLE 10g XE. I made a basic TYPO3-ORACLE installation running on Ubuntu (11.04), which is running on a VirtualBox on Windows 7. TemplaVoila is also running and Im able to create DS/TOs. My Problem starts here: When I want to assign a Page Template Structure (or the same for Subpages) on Web - Page properties - Appearance the following error is shown and the settings arent saved. 102: These fields are not properly updated in database: (tx_templavoila_ds,tx_templavoila_next_ds,tstamp) Probably value mismatch with fieldtype. Im looking forward to resolve this problem with your help! Using ORACLE is unfortunately a requirement. Thank you in advance! Hello Peter, i've heard, that some people got TYPO3 running with oracle, but it's always better to use native MySQL. To get TYPO3 up and running, you should enable the debug features in the installtool and you're required to have professional database AND TYPO3 knowledge. There tons of extensions which won't work with oracle. Hi Xavier How do I configure TV to do that? (I'm using TV V. 1.6.0) If that doesn't run.. I got an idea, is there maybe the possibility to add the entry in the oracle database manually? It would be a uniquely action. So I already got a Template, created with TV. And now I just need to know, where I have to adjust the database. Right? (I'm using TV V. 1.6.0) Basically, you have to make sure typo3conf/ext/templavoila/ext_tables.sql is modified, otherwise TYPO3 will complain that type does not match. And then you have to manually take care of modifying the DB to change the type. You may start by modifying ext_tables.sql, see how TYPO3 wants to ALTER your schema and do it manually as AFAIR you won't be able to ALTER the column type with Oracle. If that doesn't run.. Not to advertise anything, but the extension t3adminer should be able to work with all databases which are supported by TYPO3 (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL) and it should also automatically recognize the DBAL configuration and connect to that database. I haven't been able to test it on Oracle yet, so this would be a nice test. If it works you can do your database manipulation from the TYPO3 backend. Maybe Adminer can change the column type on the fly?
