RE: [U2] mvDeveloper
Brian Another thing... I use Replace all the time You have Ctrl-H for Edit/Insert/Hex Value and Ctrl-H for Replace. and pressing Ctrl-H gets me the option to insert a Hex value. Using the menu structure Search / Replace works perfectly. ps: please supply your mail address, perhaps this should be taken offline. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Leach Sent: 28 February 2008 07:38 PM To: u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org Subject: RE: [U2] AE editor replacement [AD] Hi Dennis 1. Brian What you're saying then is that syntax highlighting doesn't automatically work after a virgin install? The user needs to set each of the paths to pre-existing directories that the install created? Perhaps a good idea would be to make the install update those paths since (as it is creating the Program Files subfolder BLC\mvDeveloper\etc) it already know the paths to the required files. dennis -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Leach Sent: 28 February 2008 07:38 PM To: u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org Subject: RE: [U2] AE editor replacement [AD] Hi Dennis 1. RE: [U2] Question about the U2 News Flash...
Bob et al If anyone is interested I've done a writeup of the new ADO.NET provider in the next issue of Spectrum (that's www.intl-spectrum.com for details). It seems to work pretty well, especially if you restrict it to calling remote procedures. Use SQLExecDirect() in a BASIC subroutine and assign the result to @HSTMT. You could do the same with OleDB, but it seems to work cleaner with this provider.. that might just be my impression. I'd stick to UniObjects or UO.NET for any transactional updates though. RE: [U2] AE editor replacement [AD]
Dennis No - it does set the paths on install (the instructions were just a double-check), but you need to choose which language to use as your default, rather than having to specify for each separate item. Plus you might want to set paths to modified versions if you use particular conventions, or don't use specific commands. For example, I develop code for UniVerse, UniData, QM, jBASE and D3 all on the same UniVerse system, plus I have precompilers and scripting languages. Or you might be developing cross platform and just want the 'generic' Basic, rather than e.g. the UniVerse specific one. So that's the bit you need to set. Regards Brian Brian What you're saying then is that syntax highlighting doesn't automatically work after a virgin install? I loaded up the Unidata Trial Edition 7.1 I am testing with a vs2005 using UniObject. When I attempt to login, no Account Name Works. When I use AccuTerm and login and do a Where, It shows C:\IBM\ud71\demo I would have expected the account name to be DEMO, or demo, or Demo etc. Non of these works. Any Ideas would be appreciated.
