Re: [U2] Terminal Emulator and Telnet Client for a MacBook Pro

As do I, with SBClient in coherence mode it is pretty much indistinguishable
from a native Mac app. Just the buttons in the top right not top left.

Parallels will virtualize the apple, so you can install windows
(or migrate an existing PC), once done, you can run pretty
much any windows PC while still running os x.

Parallels for 1 PC is under 100.00

You will need from what I understand at least 2gb memory,
 4gb better.

From my experience, running one parallel program along with osx
isn't too bad, however, running two (from two different virtual
PC's) will slow the system down pretty good.

2010-03-19 Thread Kevin Gusler
Has anyone tried running SBClient 5.3.4 - 5.4.4 in Parallels on a Mac? Are
there any issues? We are running (windows) SB+ 5.3.4 and Universe 10.3.3 and
have a few users that wish to use Macs for their client pc's. Just wondered
if there was a downside.

Thanks in advance.

[U2] PRINTER memory segment removed

I have a cron job that runs a UVBasic program each morning. This morning
it got a PRINTER memory segment removed message when dropping into
Universe. I know I've seen this before but I can't remember what I did
about it. Can someone provide a reminder?

Hi Jeff

It means that a previous process had terminating leaving its shared memory
segment behind, and the new one has the required permission to remove it and
create a new one. Which normally isn't a direct cause for concern. It's if
it can't remove the segment that you need to take action and remove it
manually.

Regards

Brian

[U2] Using JDBC on Unidata 7.1 on HPUX

2010-03-19 Thread Lunt, Bruce
We are in need of connecting to an outside service that uses JDBC. I see on
the Rocket Software website that JDBC is available. I was wondering if any
users out here have implemented a connection and are using it regularly.

If so, can you help us with what we need to know to make it work well?

Thanks,
