I chased this problem for quite awhile and never found the answer. IBM wanted to install a debug version but the problem was happening on the production server. It has to do with UV thinking there is a UID problem and the -2 seems to be a default. The biggest impact I saw was the loss of being able to do admin stuff like killing hung user sessions. My work around was to create a second user with the same permissions. After a number of days, the user with the -2 will magically fix itself and someone else will end up with it. Good luck with it. [U2] UID of -2
Hi Folks, I need some help on figuring out why I'm getting a UID of -2 in UV 10.1.11. Server is Win2k3 with all the latest patches. We have half a dozen people in the IT department and we're all in the ADMIN group. Normally, we all have a UID of zero, including me, but for the past few days, I'm getting a UID of -2. Everyone else on the system is getting their correct UID. To the best of my knowledge, my account has not been touched, and everyone who has authority and/or knowledge of how to change my account status say they've not touched anything. Does anyone have any idea of how I can get back to a UID of zero? With the -2, I'm unable to do some admin tasks, like manually releasing locks. I can log out a user but when I try to release their locks, I get the following message: "Insufficient privileges to perform lock maintenance."
