[U2] UPGRADING - 10.1.18 to 11.1.1
I'm just about to do an upgrade. The current server is Windows 2003 Server running UniVerse 10.1.18 (build 8330). I'm looking to upgrade to version 11.1.1, is there anything I should be aware of? What's the best way to do this upgrade.. should I simply uninstall UniVerse 10.1.18 and then install 11.1.1? I'll be using the old VOC's for the regions when I get it setup. Hi Chris: The upgrade is simple and use the modify option. I've done a number of sites with no problems. Doug, What do you mean by use the 'modify option'? Is that an option when you upgrade during the install? Is it safe to clear out the ..UV/UVTEMP folder? What does the UVTEMP folder contain? I see I have thousands of files in there and some are giving me permissions problems. It would be nice to clear this folder out if I can. Does anyone know if this is safe to do? I think its just used for building of indexes, etc., but nothing permanent is stored their to my knowledge. Just copy it off to safe place instead of deleting it and you should be ok. If you shutdown Universe completely, you can safely clear the UVTEMP file at the host level (Windows or Unix). You should not try to clear it while Universe is active, even if no users are logged in. It's as stated used for temporary space to build requested information.
