Fine by me Anthony. Accidental banner adverts are ok too. Anthony Dzikiewicz wrote: I apologize to everyone for the post about PDF. I used the wrong to address. I think I've done this before. RE: [U2] PDF Efficiency
The efficiency of the PDF has a lot to do with the tools used to generate them, which you didn't mention here (htmldoc, ps2pdf, etc). Some commandline tools for PDF include some form of compression argument. There are tools available to optimize PDF in *nix, rather than going through the export to PC and then through Acrobat. Yes, embedded fonts bloat PDF size, can't say much else without knowing more about how they're being created. T Anthony Dzikiewicz wrote (snipped): We are in the process of archiving our invoices... Anyway, I ftp these files to my PC and bring up Acrobat 7.0 Professional and do a tools, print production, pdf optimizer. This utility is able to cut down the size of the file drastically. For example, a file of 909,425KB is shrunk to 2,714KB. Now, for the question. Is there anything I can do to improve the efficiency ? I have a feeling it has to do with embedded fonts. If so, is there a way to place the embedded fonts in the file only one time per file ? I believe the lineart is in the file only one time. --- u2-users mailing list u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org To unsubscribe please visit http://listserver.u2ug.org/

RE: [U2] PDF Efficiency
I think the original message was sent to the incorrect address. Craig's company writes a PDF generation program in U2 basic. I'm guessing it should have been sent directly to them. I rather enjoyed it. :) A little cross-pollination doesn't hurt. -Keith Original Message From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Anthony Dzikiewicz Sent: Friday, October 28, 2005 10:59 AM To: u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org Subject: RE: [U2] PDF Efficiency I apologize to everyone for the post about PDF.
