Re: [Ubnt_users] airfiber 3
It'd be worth it to see what the b5 would do with such a short shot. I'm a believer after finally deploying one. I am shooting through the top of a pine on a 7 mile link. I can still get 500+ through with the right channel selections. Signal level is -64, so the obstruction may not be such a big deal. Re: [Ubnt_users] Authentication for SMs
One of our companies uses VISP and VISP requires that you use their RADIUS servers. The other company has on-premise RADIUS, but no billing system integration. We just manage it manually (using the daloRADIUS interface). WPA2-AES w/EAP is more complicated to setup for two reasons - 1) certificates need installed on the RADIUS server (can be self-signed); and 2) the SM needs a user/pass configured (it is the EAP supplicant). the biggest difference, i guess is, no stuck beacon issue, which is due to the atheros chip set in the XM radio. the issue only shows up on the AP side, in environments that have moderate to high interference. using the XM for CPE's is perfectly fine.
