Subject: [Ubnt_users] Erratic downloads and uploads, PBE-M5-400

Time to ask the experts as I cannot figure out this issue!! This CPE worked
perfect until a recent storm, but I have replaced the AP and CPE radios at this
point too.

I have one customer that reports erratic download and uploads. Actually
sometimes going above the set rate in my Tik router, CCR1009-7G-1C+PC, Firmware
Bugfix 6.38.7. This CPE is connected to an AP that is feed from routers that
are directly connected to my fiber line in my Data Center in this area, so
everything is at the base of the tower that feeds this AP directly, no jumps to
other towers first.

I spent a lot of time connected to this CPE at the customers house testing with
and without airmax, changing radio firmware, decreasing and increasing power,
but get the same erratic behavior. I changed the POE,
M5 cone tested the cable (tested good), but still the same. I finally tested
multiple channels at the AP and found a stable solution/temp fix, not perfect,
but stable. I had to leave the CPE unlimited as it was still not behaving
correctly so for the trouble I left it unlimited to buy time to figure this
out. I even stopped at some other customers on that same road and AP and those
tested like it should at the rate it was set to in the Tik router.

Customer has been great during this time and sending me samples of speedtests
at different times in the day. Still getting big swings in speeds that vary
and when I check AirControl it does not even match the speeds they are
reporting. I'm using AC 2.1 beta 7. I realize the unlimited setup could
impact their tests, but why is AC2 not showing anything even close to their
speedtests?

Below are the radio stats for this CPE. I attached a word file of the M5 radio
stats as the copied image would not paste correctly on this email.

Signal: -56dBm
H/V: -59/-58 dBm

Transmit CCQ: 93%
TX/RX: 72.222mbps/72.222mbps
Firmware 5.6.15 XW

Airmax is enabled and shows 96% for both.

Channel Width: 10mhz
Channel Freq: 5805
Distance is 1.7 miles
TX power 26

Access Point is on 5.6.15 XW firmware

Thank you for your support!!

I did the box approach for similar. Bought an AC-disconnect box from Home
Depot for $6, and took the AC-disconnect out, put the PoE injector in.

Check the interface stats on both the radio and the router/switch closest up
stream. You probably have a bad interface, cable, or connector somewhere.
Also you could have a wireless congestion or interference issue, try changing
the feq on the AP.

Re: [Ubnt_users] Purchase Agreement

2017-08-21 Thread G. Nicholas
Roy,

Any well written and reviewed by an attorney tower lease should have an
assignment clause.

All the major tower companies include that in their leases. From the tower
companies point of view they will want to keep the new operator as a customer.
The only time I have seen this as an issue was when the seller didn't have
tower
lease contracts just hand shake agreements. If you find that when doing your
pre-purchase due diligence then you want to have the seller get all his tower
leases in writing first.

Any sort of purchase agreement depends on what you are buying:
Corporation, LLC, or an individual business?

I looked at this recently for our parking lot which has similar light
fixtures. Ours have a wiring access panel at the bottom of the pole where I
had planned to insert an injector and just run a patch cable to the top and
attach something like a UAP AC Mesh. That would keep it as clean as
possible at the top.

Sounds like a fun project!
