[Bug 32365] Re: [Bug 32365] Re: RFE: Visually impared could really use larger cursors
Luke Yelavich wrote: Which pointer do we want to use for the high contrast theme? Either the biggest red pointer or the biggest white pointer? I'm thinking white, only because it stands out from the desktop background. On the other hand, it may be harder to see in windows. As well as that, do we want the desktop background for the high contrast theme? It is not hard to get rid of that also. I would assume the biggest white pointer by default, as is it just a larger version of the default normal pointer. I can't imagine that the red pointer would be expected, and many people who need high contrast themes don't like color. -- RFE: Visually impared could really use larger cursors https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32365 -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
no sound when selecting screen reader.
Hello Henrik, i'm not sure whether this has already been logged, or where issues like this should best be reported. I am using today's build of the live cd, and on two separate machines, if I select to use the screen reader, I get no sound at all, no speech and no system sounds. I'm not sure whether system events are just not playing, or whether drivers for the audio hardware aren't being properly loadded. --Al -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
[Bug 26995] Re: brltty: Does not support USB for Alva devices - please upgrade
Thanks Matt. Please sync brltty 3.7.2-2 from Sid, ok to override Ubuntu changes. -- brltty: Does not support USB for Alva devices - please upgrade https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/26995 -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
Network configuration from the console
Hi all, this might be somewhat off-topic but perhaps not. As I mentioned the other day with the default user configuration it is not possible to read many of the admin tools with a screen reader such as orca. I am wondering: Is it possible to configure a wireless network from the console? I'm connecting to a WEP encrypted WiFi network that is already connected via wired LAN connection. thanks for any ideas. Indeed it is possible to configure the network from the console. The file you want to modify is /etc/network/interfaces. The interfaces man pages should give you the syntax for the file. To configure wireless options, you will want to look at the wireless man page to get the appropriate lines for /etc/network/interfaces. Hope this helps. -- Luke Yelavich GPG key: 0xD06320CE (http://www.themuso.com/themuso-gpg-key.txt) Email MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ICQ: 18444344 signature.asc Description: Digital signature -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility

Drivers are loaded, but as speech usually interfears with GNOME sounds, I turned them off for that profile. There is also no speech as the packages needed are not yet on the live CD. They should be in a couple of days. -- Luke Yelavich GPG key: 0xD06320CE (http://www.themuso.com/themuso-gpg-key.txt) Email MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ICQ: 18444344 signature.asc Description: Digital signature -- Ubuntu-accessibility mailing list Ubuntu-accessibility@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-accessibility
