Henrik and everybody else of the ubuntu-accessibility list: how worthwhile 
would the package be, without flite and the brltty-flite package? Is that route 
worth pursuing or should we try to get it off ubuntu-desktop? We almost 
definitely can't add the flite suite due to size constraints.

Yes I agree that it should be configured so that it is inactive for most 
people. It should not raise any dialog box. It should only be activated when 
the user selects the 'Blindness' option on the Live CD or activates AT features 
manually post-install.

It can be left in autodetect mode. Whenever a USB braille device is
plugged-in, it wakes up.
