I hacked the clearlooks engine to produce a continuous look between the toolbar and menubar. Essentially doing what I was doing before using the smooth engine. Except now the colors are customizable from the appearance manager. Here's a screenshot of the basic glossy theme sold with gtk-engines2.13 and my hacks. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Hardy/Alternate/SmoothMergedGradients?action=AttachFiledo=gettarget=screenshot.jpg Screenshot of the glossy theme using a metacity I created. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Hardy/Alternate/SmoothMergedGradients?action=AttachFiledo=gettarget=screenshot1.jpg Would this be worth asking the clearlooks developers to implement as an additional style to gummy and glossy? _ Put your friends on the big screen with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/shop/specialoffers.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC_MediaCtr_bigscreen_012008 -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art _ Make distant family not so distant with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/digitallife/keepintouch.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC_VideoChat_distantfamily_012008 -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Try integrating the pixmap engine and changing the class styling for edit boxes. There are a few good samples on gnome-look. The tweak would be minor. It is the only way I can think of reducing the impact of the tweak. Sorry, I wasn't terribly clear. If you muck around with the classes in Pixmap, you can probably quickly find which one you need to twiddle with. That said, I would bet that Mikkel or Cimi could point you in the proper direction and save this muck time.
