[Bug 60810] Importing MP3s tries to create messed up filename, crashes

2006-09-16 Thread Toni Heinonen
Public bug reported:

I was trying to import my Frank Zappa CD in MP3. Sound juicer somehow
messes up the filename, even though the artist and disc name show up OK
without any garbage. The attempted directory name is full of garbage
like pipes, spaces and random numbers.

After failure of the attempt to open the first file, sound juicer gives
an error on the filename, then on the ripping process, and then crashes.
Please see attached screenshot of the first error and crash report.

I think I found the problem:

If I start KDE apps like Kontact under Gnome - the keyboard focus gets
lost in the systray where I have the KAlarm and KMail icons docked to
systray.

If I quit KAlarm and KMail I can navigate through the panel with the
keyboard without problems.

[Bug 60631] Re: [edgy]Crash opening firefox

2006-09-16 Thread DannyStaple
I run this as en_GB, and also see the issue. So it is likely that any
non-US locale has this problem. Maybe a testing/release plan needs to
be amended to make sure it at least starts up in other locales.

Could something like that be automated? I would be thinking of a script
to set the locale, start Firefox with a URL passed in, ensure it hits a
particular page on a server that was set up, then close FF (not sure how
to script closing gracefully - any thoughts?), then do it all again on
the next locale.

[Bug 60824] Missing export feature

2006-09-16 Thread towsonu2003
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Distribution: Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper)
Package: Evolution
Severity: enhancement
Version: GNOME2.14.3 2.6.x
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Missing export feature
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Calendar
Bugzilla-Version: 2.6.x
Description:
Evolution is missing an (gui) export feature. That is, I should at least be
able to export my calendar events in iCal or CSV format for use in
google / yahoo / outlook etc. Without an export feature, Evolution locks
up a calendar user to itself much in the same way proprietary software does.

2006-09-16 Thread towsonu2003
It is worse than that. In the time it takes for the IPv6 DNS request to
fail the application times out on making its connection.

seems ipv6 causes connection issues as in:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=258686 though I'm not sure if
that's a problem with the user's router or with the timeout issue as
Martin Hosken puts it.
