[Bug 69398] Re: Python crash during a session, I don't know why.
I am getting python core dumps in an application (http://www.conduit- project.org) I am developing. This is the first time I have ever seen python seg fault. The same application works fine on my laptop and always segfaults on my desktop. Both are running edgy, my laptop is a i915 chipset, single core. My desktop is a dual core pentium 2.8 The application is threaded and also has calls to various other threaded GNOME libs such as the authentication manager and gnome-keyring. The core dump occurs in this code self.keyring = gnomekeyring.get_default_keyring_sync() token = self.get(%s_token % conduit.APPNAME, int, 0) if token 0: secrets = gnomekeyring.item_get_info_sync(self.keyring, token).get_secret() for i in secrets.split(';'): j = i.split(':') self.classUsernamesAndPasswords[j[0]] = (j[0], j[1]) If i remove this code the coredump goes away. ** Description changed: I use popen() to send data to xmgr (the old Motif plotting app), but might be reproduced with other apps listening to a pipe. When dash is /bin/sh the xmgr -pipe never gets the data and the calling app closes randomly. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager Update-manager fails to download (and install) softwares from the ubuntu security repository (and maybe others). Third party repos (beryl,...) work correctly. I launched update-manager from the terminal to get the errors: $ sudo update-manager warning: could not initiate dbus could not send the dbus Inhibit signal: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. [Bug 44407] Re: Samsung clp510 not working
Your printer is not very well supported. The only way to get it working are closed-source drivers provided on Samsung's web site (or perhaps also included on the printer's driver CDs). This driver cannot be included in most distros due to copyright reasons. It also needs often special tricks to really work with the desired distribution. See http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Samsung-CLP-510 I am currently working with standardization of printer driver interfaces in LSB 3.2 and automatic driver download from the internet. [Bug 70036] Why it is not possible to transform an e-mail into a calender item?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Dear developers, while it is possible to transform an e-mail into a task it is unfortunatelly not possible to transform an e-mail into a calender item. Why? Many people send dates without using ICAL attachments. For such situations it would be convenient to have an easy way to transform such e-mails to calender items in a semi-automated manner (times etc. have naturally to be adjusted manually, however the e-mail content + attachments should be transfered automatically). Thank you and best regards, Dominik ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Why it is not possible to transform an e-mail into a calender item? https://launchpad.net/bugs/70036 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 69986] Re: The applet only shows one mobile number and e-mail address
Thank you for this fast Reply! I'm using Ximian Evolution on my Desktop and my Laptop computer. Both on Dapper 6.06.1. On my desktop computer, unfortunately the contact lookup applet only shows a greyed out edit box and a vCard symbol, so I can't use it and I don't know what I am doing wrong. On my laptop computer, I have contacts with lots of contact information. It would be great, if the applet would show me all phone numbers belonging to the contact instead of just the mobile number. And if it would show the applied address, it would be very helpful. At the moment, it only shows me the mobile number and the email address. -- The applet only shows one mobile number and e-mail address https://launchpad.net/bugs/69986 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
