[Bug 50524] Re: Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work
I'm sorry but i still believe this should be default behavior. Most users don't know when they create .desktop files or launchers and just expect things to Just Work. I know perhaps this is a lot of work but it should be the default action when the .desktop file launches a folder. Either this or when copying home from the places menu should active the nautilus gconf string to show home folder on desktop. The best option is to make even launchers of folders copyable to. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Rejected = Confirmed -- Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 50524] Re: Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work
Even if it is a launcer of a folder a user expects that if he drags a file into it, the most logical thing to do is move those files to the place the .desktop file points to (the folder). Sometimes users don't care if it's a symlink or launhcer or .desktop file / etc. They just want to be able to drag files into their home folder (even if it is a launcher etc). -- Moving file into home folder (launcher) created from places doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 106930] Audacity crashes unexpectedly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: audacity Obviously all crashes are unexpected, but Audacity crashes occasionally with no apparent cause; doing something it had done a moment ago, for example, without any trouble. I was editing a multitrack project (imported ogg track plus recordings from the microphone). I generated a tone, undid it and generated it into a new track, then undid all that and tried to generate it into the imported ogg track again, and Audacity dumped. [Bug 106427] Re: keyboard timing is broken
I've encountered the same bug. However I've been running Ubuntu (Kubuntu more specifically) since Dapper and have not had this problem. This bug just came up around a week ago in Fiesty. The thing is it happens completely randomly. I'll be doing something on the computer and suddenly the bug appears, and then any key I press takes forever to respond. I have to hold the key down for almost 2 seconds to get it to respond. [Bug 103133] Re: strace leaves process SIGSTOPped after detaching
wait() doesn't have meaning for separate threads; only for processes. Additionally, it is not possible to run strace, except as a separate (child) process. And, while proc does /represent/ an interface to the child, it's still the parent that is doing the wait()ing, upon its child (which is the strace process). It seems to me that the man page is highly relevant; but I'm happy to wait for a second opinion. As to reliably tracing oneself, you might try a method that would involve killing the strace process (SIGTERM, probably), instead of waiting for it to complete (which will cause strace to SIGSTOP the parent). -- strace leaves process SIGSTOPped after detaching https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103133 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
