Make sure you have the Universe and Multiverse repositories switched on. This can be done in 'Synaptic Package Manager' under the repositories tab. Also, you need the Japanese repository too. Hello, Thank you for your bug report. Very strange that it is not saving your input to that file. Out of curiosity, could you open up a terminal and use nano to edit your sources.list? This is a command line editor that is very easy to use, all of the control characters used to save, exit, so on are labeled at the bottom of the screen. Try to edit the file and save it using nano. ( nano /etc/apt/sources.list ). For me, combining the sound controls is not the solution. The volume of the mono or bass speaker is much stronger than the two normal speakers. If the volume gets low, all you hear is the low not that nice to hear sound from the speaker at the bottom. What I find even stranger is, that I did not have this problem with this laptop when I was using 6.10. Even more, after doing a dist upgrade to feisty I didn't have this problem. Then, if a file cannot be deleted for any reason (I had a subfolder that belonged to nobody and was locked), a warning appears asking to ignore the file or abort (so the remaining files can be deleted). yeay, finally i feel I'm at the right place with the troubles I encountered. I posted already in great detail here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2706945#post2706945 to sum it up: on my notebook the dvd drive on the second channel disappears after the installation of kubuntu 7.07. it's there when i boot the live system. funny thing is: the same applies for windows vista on the same machine. i hope the stole code from open source, not the other way around. to the post above I added a reply with to more mailing list entries I found. both of them point to a linux kernel problem on the module ata_piix. previous versions of (k)ubuntu used the module piix. The crash is reproducible by opening the webpage, even in safe-mode. Console output is just Segmentation fault (core dumped). I have no further extensions installed - only what comes with packages firefox (2.0.0.3+1-0ubuntu2) and language packs mozilla-firefox-locale- de-de (2.0.0.1ubuntu-1) and mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb (2.0.0.1ubuntu-1).
