[Bug 121701] Notification icon has blank tooltip when there are unread items

2007-06-22 Thread Phil Bull
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: liferea

When there are unread items, hovering over the liferea icon in the
notification area pops-up a blank tooltip (i.e. no text in the tooltip).
Instead of being blank, it should contain text describing how many
unread items there are. When there are no unread items, the tooltip
displays 'No new items/No unread items' as normal.

[Bug 103436] Re: sshd not reconfigured by /etc/network

2007-06-22 Thread Colin Watson
I did it differently in the end (you can make better use of the init
script than that; reload does the job with less messing around), but
thanks for the help anyway.

openssh (1:4.6p1-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Fix ordering of SYSLOG_LEVEL_QUIET and SYSLOG_LEVEL_FATAL.
  * Clarify that 'ssh -q -q' still prints errors caused by bad arguments
(i.e. before the logging system is initialised).
  * Suppress Connection to host closed and Connection to master closed
messages at loglevel SILENT (thanks, Jaap Eldering; closes: #409788).
  * Suppress Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a
terminal message at loglevels QUIET and SILENT (closes: #366814).
  * Document the SILENT loglevel in sftp-server(8), ssh_config(5), and
sshd_config(5).
  * Add try-restart action to init script.
  * Add /etc/network/if-up.d/openssh-server to restart sshd when new
interfaces appear (LP: #103436).
  * Backport from upstream:
- Move C/R - kbdint special case to after the defaults have been
loaded, which makes ChallengeResponse default to yes again. This was
broken by the Match changes and not fixed properly subsequently
  (closes: #428968).
- Silence spurious error messages from hang-on-exit fix
  (http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1306, closes: #429531).

[Bug 108128] Re: [envy] Possible Nvidia probs upgrading from Edgy to Feisty

2007-06-22 Thread Matteo Zandi
a manual installation requires a manual uninstallation.

now r-m handles /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common, so that if
for example fglrx is disabled in such file, if you choose to enable
Ubuntu shipped 'ATI restricted driver', r-m takes care of removing
'fglrx' from DISABLED_MODULES and launching /sbin/lrm-manager --quick.

This is helpful in case a user installs fglrx manually and then, perhaps
after upgrading the kernel, wants to switch to Ubuntu provided version
of fglrx and forgets about /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common.

Still, this new feature doesn't help in case the user dist-upgrades and
he forgets to switch back to ati driver (either manually or with the
help of r-m). It would be a good idea to check if update-manager takes
care of this, otherwise to file a bug so that update-manager cooperates
with r-m in handling this issue.

[Bug 121598] Re: Negative amount of unread items

I've downgrade to 1.2.10c, and been able to reproduce it. But I can't in

Since this isn't an important bug (like a crash), we won't fix this in

[Bug 121716] Netscape mail cookie problem

2007-06-22 Thread dowelld
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I have a Netscape webmail account (Now AOL), when I attempt to connect
to the login page the browser reports connection reset by peer.

This appears to be related to a cookie that AOL mail is setting.
This problem appears to be specific to Firefox 2.0.0.4, it has never happened
before, and is still not happening on another system running Firefox 2.0.0.3.

To recreate the problem :-
Login into the AOL mail login page # This will work the first time
Logout of the AOL mail service
Navigate to another site
Try and navigate to the AOL login page # This will fail and the browser will
report connection reset by peer

To fix the problem use Tools - Clear Private Data and from the
selection box ensure that only Cookies is ticked then click the Clear
Private Data button, the browser will now navigate to the AOL login
page with no problem, and you will be able to login again.

It means clearing all cookies every time you navigate to the AOL login
page.

Thanks

particular audio rate, but when you actually try to record it doesn't
work.

If none of the available audio rates work, then you might want to
consider testing out our SVN version which has a new autodetect audio
rate feature which has fixed this problem for a few people.

[Bug 115911] Re: E: The package mfc440cncupswrapper needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

2007-06-22 Thread Andrew Packer
Ray/Revcol,

I ran into the same problem trying to install a Brother DCP130C
(actually, as I haven't got that printer myself, trying to go through
the installation process on my machine so I can help a friend install
her printer). Couldn't finish the installation of the cupswrapper
package, couldn't uninstall it, couldn't reinstall it, and it had broken
Synaptic (as well as gdebi, aptitude, you name it).

I have, for this evening, given up on the printer, but found a way of
getting Synaptic back.

Looking at the output you've copied above, the problem is that you're
missing the file
/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc440cn/cupswrapper/cupswrappermfc440cn

Close Synaptic if you've got it open.

Use your favourite editor to create a dummy file with one or two
characters and save it somewhere convenient (say in /home/ray) as
cupswrappermfc440cn. Then

cd /home/ray # if you're not already there
 sudo mv cupswrappermfc440cn
/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc440cn/cupswrapper/
 sudo chmod 777
/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc4409cn/cupswrapper/cupswrappermfc440cn
 # the change in permissions may be unnecessary but can't hurt

Now try

 sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq dcp130ccupswrapper

And Synaptic should be happy again.

[Bug 121726] system hangs often when playing a new track

2007-06-22 Thread ibai00
Public bug reported:

The hang up always happens when a new track is going to be played in the

It doesn't matter if the song is taken from the Phonoteque, a Playlist or mi

Could it be the shuffle function?

[Bug 121701] Re: Notification icon has blank tooltip when there are unread items

2007-06-22 Thread Phil Bull
I've attached a screenshot. The images correspond to the following
states:

Left: No unread items
Middle: One unread item
Right: Two or more unread items

I've also noticed that the status bar at the bottom of the Liferea
window possibly has a similar problem with a status label on the far
right. It either says '1 unread' (if there is one unread item) or is
blank (if there are zero or more than one unread items).

[Bug 41998] Re: skim MUST depend on scim.

2007-06-22 Thread Ming Hua
Fixed in Debian 0.2.2-2 and already merged in gutsy.

scim-hangul (0.2.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Adapt to the $(moduledir) change in scim 1.4.6. (Closes: #424012)
- Bump build dependency to libscim-dev (= 1.4.6).
- Drop 10scim-plugin-module-install-dir dpatch, no longer needed.
- Use wildcard * instead of hardcoded 1.4.0 for scim module path in
debian/install and debian/rules, making it possible to binNMU when scim
  module ABI changes.
  * Add scim to dependency. All IM module packages should depend on scim,
because they would be useless without scim installed. Users only need to
install the IM module package they need and should get scim automatically.
  * Update debian/watch to use the qa.debian.org redirect URL for
sourceforge.net.
  * Upgarde to policy version 3.7.2.2, no actual changes needed.

** Changed in: scim-hangul (Ubuntu)

[Bug 90526] Re: Routine fsck deactivates swap, changing UUID

2007-06-22 Thread Jarno Suni
I also lost swap after hibernate when using Edgy. Today I noticed the
swap is not in use (by running top) while running on terminal sudo
aptitude update aptitude show alsaplayer, using Feisty.

Patch to this is to use device name instead of the uuid thing for swap
partition in /etc/fstab and then reboot. (I have not tested hibernate
with it, though.)

[Bug 38442] Re: MASTER: Doesn't support 1024x768 resolutions

2007-06-22 Thread Steve
I have an alternative workaround.
I just installed 7.04 on a notebook with only 800x600 resolution. I simply
pressed tab until my cursor focus reappeared then shift-tabbed back to the last
button (usually Next or OK) and pressed space or enter. I could easily use my
mouse to select my time zone. EASY
That said I totally agree with busdriver above. I wish I could think of a
stronger word than ridiculous. The CD wrapper should read at least 256Mb ram,
2Gb disk space and 768 screen height RIDICULOUS^2. I hate it when software
forces me to throw out my perfectly good older computer as it fucks up my
finances and my sons planet. Thanks Ubuntu I will now crawl back into my happy
little red hat shell.

[Bug 119961] Re: Incorrect Rotation result on Screen Resolution with Crestline on Santa Rosa

2007-06-22 Thread Kevin Wang
Hello,

I tried with the new package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0.0, it doesn't
work well.

it using the wrong resolution which is not same as specified in the
xorg.conf, not 1280x1024, etc, also the xwindow will be restart when I
try to change the resolution, because the resolution is incorrect, I
could do the rotation from the GUI.

from the MMI, I got the same error when trying to do roation.

BTW, use the xserver-xorg-video-intel 1.9.94, I found the module version
display is incorrect in the Xorg.0.log:
it is display as: module version = 14.94.94

Thanks
