[Bug 125930] Problems on Vaio FZ11M
Public bug reported: I have ubuntu feisty installed on this new machine, and have run into alot of issues with it. Firstly, the graphics controller (with latest nvidia proprietary drivers) is underperforming, and often crashes the system completely, total lockup of mouse etc when in use (eg by beryl). It can't resume from suspend, and will not work at all (can't enable display in X or terminal) if usplash is running during boot. Secondly, the CD drive is not detected, and isn't allocated in /dev/ as anything. It loaded the livecd off it, so I don't see why this should be a problem. When the computer totally locks up, no log file seems to take note of anything out of the ordinary except that it had just detected the CDRom and was trying to do something with it. [Bug 125929] Vnc4server and ati driver crash machine when accessing

Hi all, Coming into this discussion a but late, however I have the same problem. I am installed alsa v1.0.14 and am running 2.6.20-16-generic. I do not have headphone jack detect in my volume control-switches and plugging in the headphone jack does not mute the main speakers. I have attached relevant stats. If there is more info needed, let me know. I am a newb when it comes to troubleshooting linux audio so bear with me (am willing to try anything:). I have a MSI L745 laptop by the way. Hi, Sorry I missed those steps, When I create an email I will add all of the people I am sending to, generally with one person in the to, and the rest in the CC box. When I send messages to many people (generally at least 8) the email addresses are searched fine from the global address book until I hit a large number. At that point I am unable to search the users any longer and when I alt-tab back to the main evolution window I will have an error saying that evolution is unable to communicate with the exchange backend process. I then find that I am unable to fetch new emails etc until I restart evolution. I would have expected that the email client would be able to find the additional users in the GAL and the exchange process would not die. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk Description: displayconfig-gtk produces non correct xorg.conf file for Xinerama mode and conflicts with gnome-display-properties settings for Clone mode on Intel GMA950 graphics card on Thinkpad Z61m. Default resolution of notebook is 1280x800. I want to have 1024x768 for both displays when using Clone or Xinerama mode for presentations. Clone mode: Clone mode works with GDM and 1024x768 for both displays. But as soon as I start Gnome, Gnome has a virtual resolution of 1280x800. That means I can move around in the desktop because physical resolution is still correctly 1024x768. Produced xorg.conf for Clone mode seems to be OK but It seems that gnome-display-config sets display size for Gnome to 1280x800. I think gnome-display-properties should completely removed and replaced with displayconfig-gtk in Gutsy. Otherwise these two will conflict with each other. And it is very confusing for users if they have to setup two display config tools... Xinerama mode: X doesn't start up. This bug is infact a complete show stopper for me as I have just clocked that I cannot write to my external drive from Feisty using either pmount or sudo mount. I'm going to have to migrate back to dapper in order to use my hardware properly this is a bad thing.
