[Bug 175829] [Hardy]b43 wireless driver: WiFi LED is out when interface up and vice versa

2007-12-12 Thread der_vegi
Public bug reported:

I am using the b43 driver from the 2.6.24-1-generic kernel (amd64) for
my broadcom BCM4312 wireless card. If this module is up and running, it
creates a network interface called 'wlan0_rename' which is working. But
if it is up and working, my WiFi LED is off, if I do 'ifdown
wlan0_rename', the LED goes on although the device is off now.

2007-12-12 Thread Matt Darcy
Brandon has a fixed marked, I think we should allow the package to be

The package is broke due to md5 checks. Lets get that bug resolved for
this package, close the bug and if appropriate log another bug to
details issue with the package for say konqueror compatability as that
is not the goal of this bug.

In the same way Bug 175255 details the general issue with md5

2007-12-12 Thread André Carezia
For pt_BR the change of Julian calendar to Gregorian calendar should be
on 1582. Brazil was a colony of Portugal at the time, and Portugal
changed calendars in 1582.

But, instead, cal is wrongly showing the change in 1752.

[Bug 139846] Re: [GUTSY] RTC alarm does not retain setting from /proc/acpi/alarm

Same problem to me with Ubuntu 7.10. Before the update from Feisty
everything worked like a charm, but immediately after the update i can
write the wakeup time a thousand times to /proc/acpi/alarm, use or don't
use the poweroff - kernel, the machine sleeps forever.

@Leann:
Even the new kernel from hardy did not work - i tested it exactly the way you
described.

[Bug 175831] gnome-system-monitor shows network activities in relation to top amount of session

2007-12-12 Thread egnarts
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

In gnome-system-monitor under resources there is the network-cronicals.
The y-scale of the graph shows 0% - 100%. This percentage value relates to the
highest amount reached in the actual session. There is no way to show absolute
amounts.
So you have to compare the value displayed under the graph with its highest
peak to evaluate your top download- or uploadrate.

[Bug 133666] Re: please patch linux-source-2.6.22 to fix ata_piix bug

2007-12-12 Thread David Wynn
Tested recompile of 2.6.24. The SiS 5513 module as originally supplied
by the kernel.org folks is still working. The 2.6.22 and 24 kernels
with this module removed in Gutsy and Hardy are not working.

If there's some reason that we do not want this module -- then we still
have not fixed the kernel to correctly support this hardware and we need
to review our fix in Hardy.

With Gutsy being a stable system, I would not suggest any new kernel
patches. But, because this has caused major regression for anyone with
a SiS 5513-related controller (including certain Intel 82801
controllers), I would request that we restore the old fix so that Gutsy
can actually be a working system. So, where Hardy may need to have new
code to replace the module, Gutsy should just have the existing module
compiled and made available to the kernel.

Cheers!

[Bug 175725] Re: Please sync regina-normal (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-12-12 Thread Ben Burton
Me again,

I've been advised to add a changelog entry -- this is included in the
second attachment (regina-normal-hardy-2.diff), which is simply the
original attachment plus a new entry to debian/changelog.

Changing the bug title also to reflect that this is now a merge instead
of a sync.

b.

** Attachment added: Original patch plus changelog entry
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10858107/regina-normal-hardy-2.diff

** Summary changed:

- Please sync regina-normal (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
+ Please merge regina-normal (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: regina-normal

- Please sync regina-normal (universe) 4.4-1 from Debian unstable (main).
+ Please merge regina-normal (universe) 4.4-1 from Debian unstable (main).

This is a new upstream release, which was uploaded to debian in
  November.

The current version in ubuntu is 4.3.1-4build1, which AFAICT has no
  ubuntu-specific changes.

  Thanks - Ben.

[Bug 123789] Re: Kernel 2.6.22-x will not boot on laptop

2007-12-12 Thread David Wynn
Sorry to have further muddied the waters. Note: DaveW, the contributor
who originally posted this issue, has not responded back with his
computer specifications. But the next three contributors (Johan,
Necromancer, and Fabio Marzocca) all showed that they use this IDE
controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 IDE. (Search their lspci reports
for 'IDE' and you'll see what I mean) I would suggest using this issue
to deal with problems specifically related to this IDE controller. I
again apologize for adding to the confusion with my previous post.

[Bug 175563] Re: Can't open files with extension php

2007-12-12 Thread makiolo
Thanks, but ...

I have Apache + PHP and I can see php interpreted url type
http://localhost/phpinfo.php.
When we opened with firefox file:///var/www/phpinfo.php appears dialogue open /
download, OK no problem. Firefox is a browser html and could not interpret the
php, showing it could just as plain text if the mimes are configured to do so.
The problem with kompozer it like this, if I put in teminal:
Kompozer file:///var/www/phpinfo.php
Kompozer should allow editing the file as HTML, I do not want to interpret php,
only to edit it.
The proof that kompozer would be able to do so is that kompozer
file:///var/www/phpinfo.php~ works perfectly, as a backup, with a different
extension .php

Greetings

[Bug 172400] Re: libpam-runtime missing from ia32-libs

2007-12-12 Thread Soren Hansen
You're right. I was thinking of libpam-modules, but it won't work
anyway.

If compiled in a 32 bit environment, pam will look in /lib/security for
its modules, and this clearly won't work as the modules it'll find there
are 64 bit ones.

[Bug 172297] Re: Cups printer sharing needs restart to work

2007-12-12 Thread Till Kamppeter
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 173470 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173470

This is caused by an upstream bug in CUPS. CUPS stops broadcasting if it
gets a HUP signal for reloading its configuration. This happens every
night via the logrotate cron job and a full stop and restart of CUPS is
required to get broadcasting back. See bug 173470.
