[Bug 178840] Canon Pixma MP800 RGB colours offset
Public bug reported: If I scan a photo at high resolution in Ubuntu Gutsy with xsane 0.991, the red, green and blue colours are offset and separate. The packages mentioned in that list depend on both kdelibs5 and libungif4g. kdelibs5 depends on libgif4. Something worth noting is how ffmpeg, mencoder, and mplayer depend on libungifg4, directly or indirectly. I also noticed that libgif4 is supposed to replace libungif4g, but doesn't provide libungif4g. Perhaps modifying libgif4 to provide libungif4g may solve the problem here. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] KDE4 not installable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178841 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1] Re: Microsoft has a majority market share
As much as I agree with you's, but unless Linux and Ubuntu had better support with the hardware manufactors and software developers especially the gaming industry, Unbuntu and the rest of the open-source free software will never get accepted by the general windows user as it's very unpredictable to determine bugs or newly introduced bugs as testing is only focused on the MS Windows platforms. [Bug 178600] Re: Hardinfo: Hardinfo does not show correct labels (names) for all device sensors.
Allo, Forgive I continue my rant about sensors and sensor labels but am learning new things all the time. Maybe Hardinfo should call the sensors program to get information about sensor Chipsets, Temperatures, Fan speeds and Voltages. sensors program uses the functions provided by libsensors library. $ apt-cache search libsensors libsensors-dev - lm-sensors development kit libsensors3 - library to read temperature/voltage/fan sensors --- An ordinary output from: http://bildr.no/view/135109 --- The sensors program comes with the lm-sensors package. Get the source $ apt-get source lm-sensors or download the source from http://www.lm-sensors.org Look in the prog/sensors/ directory. The compilation requires at least these packages (maybe others too) $ sudo apt-get install build-essential libgtk2.0-dev libsysfs-dev bison flex -- An idea to Improve the sensors program: We could modify the sensors programs so it outputs data in more structured fashion (eg. xml), data, which other applications can read and interpret. Take a look at this suggestion: http://www.edbl.no/tmp/suggestion-to-improve-the%20sensors-program.txt Compare it to an ordinary output from the sensors program. http://www.edbl.no/tmp/ordinary-output-from-sensors-program.txt It is readable but not very suitable for parsing. [Bug 101943] Re: [nvidia] braid screensaver crashes system with compiz activated
I run no screensavers and I have the same problem. I have a graphics application that produces the same symptoms: desktop frozen, KB frozen, mouse moves but clicks to nothing. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace does nothing. PC must be rebooted to escape. The graphics application runs normally with Visual Effects set to None. If Visual Effects are set to Normal, the lock-up happens within seconds. Suggestion: try running the problem screensavers with Visual Effects set to None. Does it now run OK? My graphics program has the following characteristics, which may be a clue to the underlying bug: hundreds of small screen updates per second (using gdk_draw_drawable()). This is also a typical screensaver characteristic. [Bug 103148] Re: kinit: No resume image
Hi again, I'm now that far that I know what's causing the error. What I don't know is why this error is generated at the place it is, in my opinion the reason has no relation with the error. When I modified the display settings from within KDE, KDE wrote a new xorg.conf file. In that file one line is wrong, afein it is not wrong but it points to something that doesn't exist on my PC. Result: the error. In the file, the one I previousely attached, KDE wrote a section referring as: Section Module with some load commands. Following 'man xorg.conf' this loads some modules from a path /usr/lib/modules/fonts or /usr/lib/modules/extensions. On my PC there is no /usr/lib/modules directory and therfore the error appears. Don't know why it is not there. When I just remove that line (set of line) from the xorg.conf file it works. To simply solve the problem, X should ignore the sections where it can't find the files or section for and not error out into text mode. Maybe a warning could be generated to show the man behind the machine that something is not working as set. The hotkey codes are same as for MSI Infinity series (micro-star-infinity.hk), except for the following differences: - Fn+F3 touchpad disable item does not apply - this key works out of the box, so it's either a different scancode that's already known, or it's handled outside hotkey-setup (sorry if i'm babbling nonsense, i don't understand hotkeys too well, only to make my laptop work ;) ) - envelope, e and magnifying glass keys ($KEY_MAIL, $KEY_WWW and $KEY_SEARCH) are not present on PR200. setting the keycodes seems to do no harm, though - keycode e06e (key labeled P2) turns webcam on/off. it worked out of the box, too, but generated noise about unknown scancode in dmesg. i mapped it to $KEY_CAMERA There is one more hotkey, P1, which is programmable key, but i was unable to find out its scancode. it doesn't seem to do anything - X won't see it and it doesn't put any messages into dmesg.
