[Bug 152933] Re: zero timeout buggy

2008-01-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Since this is not a bug which affects us directly, I was hoping for
getting bug 152952 settled and merge the entire branch.

However, just to get this off my list I'll cherrypick this and bug
154234 and will upload.

[Bug 110585] Re: Compaq Proliant DL360: raid controller should use cpqarray, not sym53c8xx

2008-01-11 Thread GlennS
I had exactly the same problem on my G1 as well. After searching the web all
morning and reading all your posts, I was not bothered in following all the
steps outlined in the fix ISO. I am using Gutsy 7.10 server insall and had the
same problem.
So, what I ended up doing was, used the SmartStart CD 5.5 and did the usual
steps there, when the disc is swapped with server ubuntu, when you start up
normally and it asks you your language, I used back, which takes you to the
menu of install opions. I selected Shell out to prompt. at the prompt I typed:
modprobe -r sym53c8xx and hit enter
then I typed: exit taking me back to the menu. And then selected language and
followed through - no issue. It is currently installing the base system -
huraaah!

[Bug 181955] Wishlist for Default Setting Improvements in Synaptic

2008-01-11 Thread Conrad Knauer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

When I do a clean install of Ubuntu, I end up going into Synaptic and
making a bunch of changes to the default settings; I thought that it was
about time I filed a whishlist-type bug on this and so if they are
useful to others too, they can be made into defaults :) My basic idea:
Synaptic should be for those who want detailed info since Add/Remove is
available as a simple interface. The changes, tested in Gutsy and Hardy
circa alpha 3:

Settings - Preferences

 General (tab) - Appearance
check (yes to) Show package properties in the main window

Columns and Fonts (tab) - Columns
check (yes to) Section, Component and Download Size (all are
checked then); move Component to second from bottom of list and Section to
bottom.

 Files (tab) - Temporary Files
select Leave all downloaded packages in the cache (The
HardyFullDiskHandling spec at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardyFullDiskHandling
should make this ok if its implemented)

Settings - Filters

 add:
- Upgradable (consisting of Upgradable and Upgradable (upstream))
- Residual config (just Residual config)
- New (New in repository)
- Pinned (Pinned)
- Orphaned (Orphaned; requires deborphan from Universe; very handy in
clearing space though... Maybe suggest it somehow?)
- Not Installable (Not installable)
- Automatic (Automatic install and Automatic removable)

[Bug 50839] Re: If the mouse is hold on a flash animation keyboard and mouse scrolling stop to work

2008-01-11 Thread Ali AbdulAziz
Thanks for your reply Cimmo,
I have the latest trunk, so I think the problem is related to the Flash plugin
itself, I didn't upgrade to the new plugin because I tried it and it was very
slow (I have an old machine).

[Bug 181957] Gnome Time Tracker Project Hierarchy Modification Trouble

2008-01-11 Thread Peter Triesz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnotime

Building an example hierarchy like this:

- RD
- XY testing
- XY development
- MKT
- Research
 - seek similars
 - try similars
- Advertising
- SM

Trying to move subprojects among branches it reorganizes the whole
hierarchy in an unwanted way. Eg moving the very last entity to a sub-
branch, instead of the picked one...

Eg I tried to swap the order of XY testing and XY dev in the above
hierarchy and instead I got this:

- RD
- SM
- XY testing
- XY development
- MKT
- Research
 - seek similars
 - try similars
- Advertising

2008-01-11 Thread Timo Aaltonen
  * Merge with Debian unstable, remaining changes:
- Rename the source
- debian/control:
  + Drop the dummy package
  + Change the maintainer address.
  + Add quilt to build-deps.
- Makefile: Add -fno-stack-protector.
- debian/patches:
  100_fix_vt_handling.diff
+ Something is opening the device even after we've switched away
from the VT. The easiest way to handle this is to refuse to open
unless we're on the current VT.
  101_parameter_setting_code.diff
+ Add initial support for setting some paramaters via X.

I'll merge with the Debian source. It's basically the same package, only
that the tarball name has been changed to x-x-i-s, so a merge is
trivial.

[Bug 181961] nut-usb: wrong priority number in name of udev rules file

2008-01-11 Thread Ari Mujunen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nut-usb

The file /etc/udev/rules.d/025_nut-usbups.rules does not conform to Ubuntu
conventions
of udev rules files. It should apparently be
/etc/udev/rules.d/25-nut-usbups.rules or similar.
With the name starting with 025 this causes USB UPS HID devices to have wrong
permissions
because /etc/udev/rules.d/20-names.rules overrides the permissions for HID
devices.

[Bug 179889] Re: Please remove elfsh from Hardy

2008-01-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Will remove the following packages from hardy:

 elfsh | 0.51b3-2.1 | amd64, hppa, ia64, powerpc, sparc
 elfsh | 0.65rc1-1.1 | source, i386, lpia
 libelfsh0 | 0.51b3-2.1 | amd64, hppa, ia64, powerpc, sparc
 libelfsh0 | 0.65rc1-1.1 | i386, lpia
libelfsh0-dev | 0.51b3-2.1 | amd64, hppa, ia64, powerpc, sparc
libelfsh0-dev | 0.65rc1-1.1 | i386, lpia

--- Reason ---
(pitti) RC-buggy, unmaintained, will be replaced by eresi, #179889
--

Please note that I did NOT add this to the sync blacklist, so it'll turn
up again at hardy+1 when we enable autosyncs again. Please ask Debian to
remove it too, or otherwise ask us (and give a rationale) to blacklist
it. Thank you!

[Bug 181965] wine application of internet explorer cannot find its way to connect to the internet through computer port

2008-01-11 Thread YMS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wine

My wine application cannot figure out the port to connect to the
internet through internet explorer. So, it just sort of freezes. How
do you configure the internet port so that my wine internet explorer can
connect to the internet as well. Let's say if I am using eth0 for my
LAN connection or lll0 for my 3G HSDPA dial up. I have no problem
connecting to any of this device port using the normal linux environment
(I mean not using wine as a virtual operating system) Thank you.
