[Bug 192061] [NEW] [Gutsy] Print tray icon should be visible only when there is a printing job
Public bug reported: The first time I print something in the current session, the print tray icon appears in the notification area. Then, instead of being removed when the job is done, it becomes gray and stays in the notification area instead of being removed. If I right-click on it, I can select the hide command, but then it will never appear again in that session. The icon should appear each time the user starts a printing job, and it should disappear when the job is done. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Gutsy] Print tray icon should be visible only when there is a printing job https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, yes it is still an issue. When I switch from a desktop with no 3d effects to a 3d-normal effects one, I start having problems with the switcher. In 3d-mode Even if I move a window for example from desk 1 to desk 3, I cannot see the preview in switcher applet, which prevent me from knowing what's in there. 3. In 3d-mode Changing number of desktops does not work at all. They always remain the same number. [Bug 178558] Re: Firefox 3.0 makes everything annoyingly huge
Still this happens with FF beta 3. Fonts are rendered normal (same as other gnome apps) but icons on the interface are doubled. This is bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394103 on firefox's bugzilla. I still suggest that: - The interface should not be scalled. Text is rendered right now same size as the gnome desktop. Icons should be the same size that the rest of the gnome desktop. - Scaling on the page contents could be useful for some people. But usually people with high dpi screen wants the things small and have a lot of contents on the screen. Posible solutions: - Scale only in *really* high dpi screens: After scaling x2 in a 147dpi screen as mine the base resolution is 147/2= 73 dpi. That's *really* huge. I would consider scaling only when base resolution is 120-150 dpi when the human eye does not see the separate pixels. i.e. in a 300 dpi screen a x2 zoom would have base resolution of 150 dpi and things will look pretty. 73 dpi blurried x2 scaled image pixels are not pretty. - Ask the user for his preference: Show a dialog like this: You screen has been detected to have very high resolution and the pages will be shown tiny (XX% the normal size on other screens). You can enable a default page zoom adequate to you screen in the preferences settings. -- Firefox 3.0 makes everything annoyingly huge https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 192072] [NEW] nautilus makes files disapear visually
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I use Feisty (7.04) with nautilus 2.18.1-0ubuntu1. But Hardy (8.04) beta 3 live CD is still affected. Steps to reproduce: With nautilus open a folder in a list-viewed window which has a non-empty folder F in it. Unfold folder F by clicking small arrow in front of it. Now rename folder F without pressing enter or clicking outside afterwards. Instead click on an object inside folder F to leave renaming. The clicked object disappears visually! It works with left and right clicks, on files and subfolders. By repeating it, further objects may get disappeared. Clicking small arrow twice does not help. Even pressing F5 to refresh does not help always. Fortunately, reopening the nautilus window always brings objects back to existence.
