For the record, libedit is pretty much known-broken in many ways, though it's our only option (we can't legally link PHP with libreadline, thanks to license conflicts). [Bug 230878] Re: Apache 2 produces an OOM after 4 hours using
Hi, I really dont think its a kernel problem either basically you have a process on your machine that is chewing up all of your memory and you really have to nail it down to see why that is. The reason why you are getting OOM because its not that smart and it killed the first. You might want to consider try a different version of apache (other than mpm-worker) as well. [Bug 234927] Re: delay php script execution on cli
So I started installing each of the modules you listed which I didn't have, and I think clamavlib is the culprit. What happens, I believe, is that php5-libclamav will load the signature database when PHP is called from the command line. I think the library was written to be used with Apache which should load the db only when Apache starts or the db is updated programatically. Anyway, can you test this by commenting the following lines in /etc/php5/cli/php.ini: #extension=clamav.so #[clamav] #clamav.dbpath=/var/lib/clamav #clamav.maxreclevel=0 #clamav.maxfiles=0 #clamav.archivememlim=0 #clamav.maxfilesize=0 #clamav.maxratio=0 Then rerun the script from the CLI? [Bug 234901] Re: Please apply upstream patch for dpkg-buildsource
Thanks for your comment. I got two points from your message. 1. Using linker flag -Bsymbolic-functions for building library is your policy. Certainly it's not bad idea. It makes shared libraries more robust, so it seems to be good manner indeed. (But ... I wonder why not -Bsymbolic instead of -Bsymbolic-functions. Could you tell me the reason?) 2. In some conditions, Samba might not work well if it is built with -Bsymbolic-functions. In further update, the flag -Bsymbolic-functions would be removed from Samba package. Still now I have to say my opinion: - The linker flag -Bsymbolic(-functions) is for build-time usage principally. - Do not force developers to use the flag who link their program against those libraries. As you have already written, dpkg itself doesn't need to be modified. On the other hand, some of *-config scripts apply build-time LDFLAGS for --libs configuration. That make unfortunate consequences. Upon my little investigation, following programs incorrectly state -Bsymbolic-functions when they are called with --libs or --ldflags argument. - krb5-config in krb5 - cups-config in cupsys - net-snmp-config in net-snmp - mysql_config in mysql-dfsg (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-dfsg-5.0/+bug/225741) More affected packages may exist. There are many many packages in Ubuntu, so I could not cover them all. I think these packages would be modified. Not all of packages (having *-config script) are affected. Some programs (ex. pth-config in pth) don't have -Bsymbolic-functions (but was built with -Bsymbolic-functions). And some packages which support pkg-config (ex. libssl) have -Bsymbolic-functions in Libs.private, not in Libs. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba-common I can copy files from a windows share at 600KBs, but only copy to the share at 70KBs. I marked this as a samba-common bug because I can copy without the 'samba' package installed, and I suspect it to be samba-common, because when I have 'samba' installed, serving files is slow, averaging 61KBs, and it is supposed th use the 'samba-common' for stuff. this is why I suspect samba-common. [Bug 235253] [NEW] rename on delete, possibly causing invalid paths
Public bug reported: i split bug 235045 in two parts, one being: hardy introduces a new trash-system. if you move a file with an incredibly long path (just under max path length) into trash you cannot empty the trash. a message tells Error removing file: Directory not empty. debian shows the same bug, but presents a path too long, could not rename file message, suggesting that the files is about to be renamed before deletion and this fails. removing the file from command line works as expected. my installation of hardy moved the trash from .Trash to .local/share/Trash however... to get a file for testing do: $ for i in `seq 1 1000`; do mkdir Desktop; cd Desktop; done expected behavior is: empty the trash. delete the file. dont rename it, but recover from failure. workaround is: display a decent error message, telling something helpful. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- rename on delete, possibly causing invalid paths https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235253 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just a follow-up. Installing the 'xserver-xgl' package solved the window border problem for me. The a: mechanism is not allowed to be an IP address. Arguably this was a poor design decision, but that is what's codified in RFC 4408. See http://www.openspf.org/RFC_4408#mech-a (and the rest of the ABNF) for details. Whenever feasible, the package design follows RFC 4408. Note that the wizard you are using is an old one. The current one is available on http://www.openspf.org/Project_Overview. If you prefer not to reject on permanent errors (and this is a permanent error), my recommendation is to switch to postfix-policyd-spf-python (that's the name in the current release, it had a different name in earlier releases).
