These are the security fixes as shown in the current changelog at: http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-5.php I chased down the CVS commit log messages against 5_2 for each of these. [Bug 236998] [NEW] Intermittent problem with GL applications in linux-rt
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-17-rt I am using hardy, with the linux-rt kernel and the nvidia-glx (not new) driver. Also, I patched /usr/bin/compiz with INDIRECT=yes to fix a memory leak in nvidia drivers. Some times, when compiz starts, Xorg hangs using 100% CPU. Switching to VT works, and I can get it working by replacing it by metacity. With metacity, everything works fine, but any GL application (e.g. glxinfo, glxgears) hangs or is using 100% CPU. When this happens, /var/log/Xorg.0.log contains repetitive errors like : tossed event which came in late mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping. [Bug 224110] Re: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/bin/java: error while loading shared libraries: libjli.so: cannot openshared object file: No such file or directory
This bug occurs on a readlink() of /proc/self/exe - the kernel implements readlink() of /proc/pid/exe by getting the file from the first executable VMA. The path to the file is reconstructed and returned as the result. This does not identify the correct path on stackable file systems, such as unionfs, hence it's not a unionfs bug per se. A patch for this does exist to fix the correct handling of /proc/self/exe, namely http://marc.info/?l=linux-mm- commitsm=120141116911711 however it is fairly intrusive - it modifies some of the more critical parts of the kernel and I believe it is not yet currently upstream, hence it's far too much of a risk to patch a stable release of Hardy and keep the kernel maintainable over the hardy LTS lifetime. -- /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/bin/java: error while loading shared libraries: libjli.so: cannot openshared object file: No such file or directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224110 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

You have to remove the old i810 driver because the new one doesn't work parallel. sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-i810 xserver-xorg-video-all Download the current driver from http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/pool/main/x/xserver-xorg-video-intel/xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.3.1-1_i386.deb and install it. After that restart X and check if your problem is gone. If it still doesn't work it is the best to report it upstream. If you want to reset everything do the follow commands. sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-intel sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-all Afterwards you will have the standard hardy driver again. Maybe you can also undo this patch and compile the driver and test it. The easiest way is to download the source and dependencies with apt-src install xserver-xorg-video-intel and then remove the file ./debian/patches/16_legacy_backlight_blc_pwn_ctl.patch and also remove the 16. entry from ./debian/patches/series . The driver is compiled with fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage. Afterwards you have a Debian package which could be installed with dpkg -i packagename.deb . -- [Hardy] [regression] gdm, opengl apps and vlc reset brightness to xbacklight value (i915) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201933 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 236988] [NEW] HARDY: gnome-ssh-askpass does *not* grab keyboard or focus if contested with other apps
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring This bug is not a bug about gnome-ssh-askpass simply failing to popup. If another gnome app already has the locks that gnome-ssh-askpass is attempting to obtain, gnome-ssh-askpass will fail. And often as a bunk side effect it will destroy the IO of what ever other app previously had the locks. This is easy to see in any gnome application that utilizes full-screen for example gnome-terminal. Steps to reproduce with a locked key: * open gnome-terminal * fullscreen it (f11) * ssh to something Type and you will see some characters (mainly whitespace) pass through to gnome-terminal. gnome-ssh-askpass will never obtain focus over the gnome-terminal which is already running full-screen. It will however eat pty's IO. *You can not exit, without killing it from a non-x TTY.* ** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- HARDY: gnome-ssh-askpass does *not* grab keyboard or focus if contested with other apps https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The problem is that proposed repository gives a release candidate version of openoffice (exactly rc1) so there are two way to solve the problem: - get the basic (and not beautiful) user interface until there are any updates - do the downgrade (the solution that I try) To do the downgrade the only way is to uninstall all OO packages (whit apt o synaptic) then perform another new installation of real stable packages (Package_Name-3ubuntu6). [Bug 236777] Re: Swiss German keyboard layout broken since Feisty
No, it's not a problem that goes away if I choose another keyboard layout. I've been using the same keyboard layout since Feisty, and in Feisty it worked properly. Then when I did the upgrade to Gutsy it stopped working and no matter what keyboard layout I choose, the behavior is the same. Then I upgraded to Hardy hoping that the problem went away, but it persists, that's why I am now reporting it. Basically, as far as I am concerned, there are 3 keys that are not working as expected and which I need pretty often. Those keys are the ones described in my previous post. What I am trying to do is to get the following letters: ï ñ á or ó but instead I am getting ¨i ~n ´a or ´o which is not what I want. For example, for the ñ letter, what I used to do (and this is what I do in any Winbugs system) I pressed at the same time Alt Gr and ^ (the key next to the backspace), released and then pressed n and I used to get ñ, but ever since I'm getting ~n. It is also the case for the other keys I'm referring to. For the ó letter I pressed at the same time Alt Gr and ' (the second key to the left of the backspace), released and then pressed o. For the ï letter I pressed at the same time Alt Gr and ¨ (the key below the backspace) and then i I don't know what further details I can provide but I'll be glad to help. [Bug 125970] Re: slow scroll with image as background-repeat
No improvements in 3.0 RC1 from hardy-proposed, sorry. I tried the two urls below, which both gives 15-20 fps in Opera, but only ½-1 fps in Firefox 3 RC1. Note that the slashdot url is interesting: It scrolls equally well in Opera and Firefox until the 'Comments' box (on the left) starts to 'hover/float' with the scrolling page. - http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/examples/dinosaurs/dinosaurs2.html - http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/06/01/1437245from=rss -- slow scroll with image as background-repeat https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125970 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 235699] Re: gnome system tray glitches with compiz enabled
Hi Here is the lspci output for my video card : 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G71 [GeForce 7900 GS] (rev a1) and I use nvidia drivers from nvidia-glx-new package. Anyway, it seems that one of the last two kernel/nvidia-glx updates solved the problem since I did not see any more glitches since then. I don't know if compiz is responsible for that, and maybe it was a VGA driver problem, but problem only occured when compiz was running with both, gutsy and hardy. I think you can simply close this bug for the moment. I will reopen it if it happens again and if I have any more details... [Bug 236988] Re: HARDY: gnome-ssh-askpass does *not* grab keyboard or focus if contested with other apps
This is exploitable in a very easy fashion using the following command gnome-terminal --hide-menubar --full-screen -e ssh host-with-passkey On the flip side can this agent easily be disabled, I'd prefer to explicitly opt-in to agent with ssh-add are there any disadvantages to yanking it -- HARDY: gnome-ssh-askpass does *not* grab keyboard or focus if contested with other apps https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
