Re: [Bug 253999] [NEW] nut with Tripplite UPS fills logs and console with on battery and on line power messages
Jamie, I have a Tripplite OmniSmart 1400 UPS configured with: [tripplite1] driver = genericups upstype = 5 port = /dev/ttyS0 desc = Tripplite UPS we have not that specific model listed in our compat list. the only ref I've found is: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2007-September/003134.html chances are that the genericups driver isn't the right one. this driver targets oldish dumb models. if your unit is serial only, give a try tripplite or tripplitesu. if it has a USB port, test the tripplite_usb or usbhid-ups. thanks to report back the result to the nut user mailing list (no need to subscribe, I'll let your mail go through...) -- Arnaud -- nut with Tripplite UPS fills logs and console with on battery and on line power messages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253999 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 249881] Re: Hardy slapd server is not supporting sasl/external authentication
Section 15.2.1.8 of the openldap admin guide states the following : Note: The server must request a client certificate in order to use the SASL EXTERNAL authentication mechanism with a TLS session. As such, a non-default TLSVerifyClient setting must be configured before SASL EXTERNAL authentication may be attempted, and the SASL EXTERNAL mechanism will only be offered to the client if a valid client certificate was received. According to your slapd.conf file, you're using: TLSVerifyClient try which means that if your client doesn't send its certificate, the connection proceeds anyway. And thus the EXTERNAL mechanism will not be available. Try setting TLSVerifyClient to demand, so that the connection won't proceed if the client doesn't send a certificate. That may be your actual problem. -- Hardy slapd server is not supporting sasl/external authentication https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 253937] Re: Local login fails without LDAP server
Nothing looks amiss in the PAM or NSS configs. From the description, this is not a PAM problem at all, but an nss_ldap one: it's not the authentication which fails, but the resolution of users and groups afterwards. I believe the relevant section of /etc/ldap/ldap.conf is this: # Search timelimit #timelimit 30 # Bind/connect timelimit #bind_timelimit 30 # Reconnect policy: hard (default) will retry connecting to # the software with exponential backoff, soft will fail # immediately. bind_policy soft # Idle timelimit; client will close connections # (nss_ldap only) if the server has not been contacted # for the number of seconds specified below. #idle_timelimit 3600 Note that, per nss_ldap(5), the default time limit on connections to the LDAP server (the bind_timelimit) is 30 seconds. That's a 30 second timeout for *each* process that needs to look up a username or group name. If you are concerned about usability when the LDAP server is unavailable, you probably want to lower this timeout or run a cache such as nscd. (The libnss-ldap package Recommends: nscd). ** Changed in: libnss-ldap (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: pam = libnss-ldap -- Local login fails without LDAP server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libnss-ldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 254552] [NEW] PPA Changelog not displayed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager With the increasing use of PPAs to test and evaluate improvments and bug-fixes it is important that when an update is offered the user knows the version, changes, and source of the package. Currently update-manager doesn't display a changelog for packages from PPA archives. This is mainly because there is no changelog repository in the same style as there is for 'official' packages, at http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/ I have added code to UpdateManager.py that, when a changelog isn't found in the official changelog repository, checks if the package is from a PPA and if it is, fetches the changelog entry from the PPA archive front-page. It does some simple and effective page-scraping to extract the changelog and passes it back for displaying. [Bug 254552] Re: PPA Changelog not displayed
** Description changed: Binary package hint: update-manager - With the increasing use of PPAs to test and evaluate improvments and + With the increasing use of PPAs to test and evaluate improvements and bug-fixes it is important that when an update is offered the user knows the version, changes, and source of the package. It adds a note to the bottom of the changelog giving the source of the package, e.g: Version 0.5.0-1ubuntu1~ppa1h: * Packaged for Ubuntu (from PPA intuitivenipple - https://launchpad.net/~intuitivenipple/+archive) - I'm publishing update-manager 1:0.87.31~ppa1h in my PPA with this - functionality enabled for anyone that wants to try it. + I'm publishing update-manager 1:0.87.31~ppa1 in my PPA with this + functionality enabled for anyone that wants to try it. [Bug 254561] [NEW] Benchmark window freezes gently the sistem and degrade resurces of video card
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Frecuently, when I have the compiz benchmark activated, the sistem slows and use a lot of processor (about 16%, the normal is about 1,3 or 2 whit any programs oppened), freezing gently the sistem, and showing 33 fps whitouth doing anything (in this case the normal in my machine is 250 fps), but when i disable this window (super + f12) it runs better but slowest than the first case mentioned (when the window is enabled and it is working fine). I can't show now this window (benchmark) because when i move any window the animations are very slow. It happens whit the version of compiz in the repositories. Now, whit the launchpad version (0.7.6) I have other problems (I don't test if it happens whit the previous version): reported in http://bugs.opencompositing.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1019 FIRST: When I move any window, wobbly plugin works very slow, but when the compiz benchmark window is displayed (super + f12), the wobbly plugin works very fast and fine! Also, when the compiz benchmark window is displayed, if I open a new window, the animation effects (confirmed: Lámpara Mágica or magic lamp effect and Doblado con curvas or doubled whth curves, I suppose that is known in English) works faster and better! I thought they were hardware limitations but apparently are not and they can run better and faster (i have an nvidia fx 5200 with 128 mb of video memory) The Cube Reflection And Deformation plugin have the same problem (It run extremely better when i'm displaing the compiz benchmark plugin!) I'm using the version 0.7.6 and I can't test now but I thing this problem exists in the previous version SECOND: Also, frecuently, when I have the compiz benchmark activated, the sistem slows and use a lot of processor (about 16%, the normal is about 1,3 or 2 whit any programs oppened), freezing gently the sistem, and showing 33 fps whitouth doing anything (in this case the normal in my machine is 250 fps), but when i disable this window (super + f12) it runs better but slowest than the first case mentioned (when the window is enabled and it is working fine). [Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox
An auto archive function in Evolution would be great. M$ Outlook provides this feature since many versions. Meanwhile, I have written a script that will recursively archive old mails and retain your evolution folder structure in archive (unlimited levels of sub-folders under your Inbox are supported). The script depends on the archivemail package - so ensure that you have this package installed. By default, it archives all mail older than 365 days into an archives sub-folder under the user's home folder (but these can be easily changed if you are familiar with shell scripting) Each time you run the script, it will create a date-wise folder under the archives folder. Your archived evolution structure is kept here. To restore, currently, you will need to manually copy back the archived folders into /home/user/.evolution/mail/local If more people find this script useful, I might improve it with the help of zenity or python to make it more user-friendly. ** Attachment added: arch-recursive.sh http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16516837/arch-recursive.sh -- 2 gb max inbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
