[Bug 256920] Re: nagios2 won't remove/reinstall if /etc/nagios2/apache2.conf is deleted
Great ! So the problem probably came from some unwanted /etc file removals. However, nagios2 could still be fixed to better support removal / reinstall in the case /etc/nagios2/apache2.conf has been deleted (gracefully ignore that rather than failing miserably). Bug reproduction : $ sudo apt-get install nagios2 $ sudo rm /etc/nagios2/apache2.conf $ sudo apt-get remove nagios2-common The problem probably lies in nagios2-common.prerm that could have a test case for missing /etc/nagios2/apache2.conf ** Changed in: nagios2 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged -- nagios2 won't remove/reinstall if /etc/nagios2/apache2.conf is deleted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nagios2 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 235653] Re: [SRU] ACL covering all IPv4 addresses is broken in 2.2.1
Hi Chuck, I have doubts whether this particular bug warrants an update. My understanding from reading the patch is that the reason the acl fails to work as intended is not because the sense of the acl is inverted, but because the acl matches no addresses instead of all addresses. So since denying appears to be the default, it seems that the only case broken by this is giving all IP addresses access to nut. Is this ever really a good idea? Or have I overlooked some other reason that this makes sense? If the only use case this breaks is something which is simply a bad security policy, I don't see this as justifying pushing a new SRU on its own and requiring people to re-download the package. -- [SRU] ACL covering all IPv4 addresses is broken in 2.2.1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235653 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 259904] Re: iwl3945: cannot connect to hidden wpa-psk network
Hi Marius, Care to test a few things . . . First can you try installing the linux- backports-modules package as I believe it has an updated version of the iwl4965 driver - you can check the output of 'modinfo iwl4965' to see which version you have. Along with that you might want to wait for the linux-backports-modules that is in the -proposed repository to be released as it looks to by sync'd with the upstream compat-wireless stack: https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-backports-modules-2.6.24 Additionally, since the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release is actively being developed, care to confirm if this is still an issue with the latest Alpha for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10. You should be able to test via a LiveCD - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing. Please let us know your results. If the issue still exists, per the kernel team's bug policy, can you please attach the following information. Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment. * cat /proc/version_signature version.log * dmesg dmesg.log * sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log For more information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks again and we appreciate your help and feedback. And finally, just some info that beginning with the Intrepid Ibex 8.10 development cycle the linux-ubuntu-modules package was actually merged with the linux kernel package. Going forward, bugs that would have been reported against linux-ubuntu-modules should now just be reported against linux. I've gone ahead and opened the 'linux' task for this bug so that it remains open against the actively developed kernel. [Bug 241139] Re: Intrepid Ibex: Cannot access samba share Unable to mount location
Just throwing in a ditto here and subscribing... This seems to be similar to a bug that started with Hardy, only now it is worse. You would get an error message about not being able to mount the volume, but the volume was actually mounted and you could then access it in Places. [Bug 198871] Re: Jmicron AHCI controller probs...
I get exactly the same output spinning forever in my ctrl+alt+f4 terminal as in the initial post for this bug. That's the syslog? This has prevented me from installing Ubuntu for a whole year already. I've also tried messing with various BIOS settings but nothing seems to help. The effect of the ata exceptions and errors is that the install CD integrity check fails occasionally and for different files most of the time. Even though it sometimes succeeds I've never managed to get a full install to work. Usually it craps out with a file is corrupt warning pretty early. I noticed sometimes the exceptions and errors are reported for ata3 and sometimes for ata7. I've got an Asus P5K motherboard with that annoying JMicron controller. If I understand my hardware layout correctly I have a PATA DVD-Drive which is converted to SATA through the JMicron controller. Does this sound reasonable? Re: [Bug 260425] Re: A Fatal Error Occurred, crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT)
Unfortunately i do not have free hdd drive capacity for regular installation just now (my machine is a laptop and i have there stable system installation for daily use... i have also 1GB SD card form camera, however i am not sure if it would boot up anyway from my reader). I could try to install the debug version on the fly however i am afraid it would break down on the memory limitations (i'v got just 1GB of RAM) - i already tried apt-get upgrade :-). BTW: The crash-catching system offers me automatically the useless log to the launchpad. I noticed the emtpy lines however i expected that from the fragments someone recognize something if someone else did it working in that way... :-) I have saved similar backtrace for kopete crash while logout to a file... [Bug 209324] Re: Hangs on logout, restart, and shutdown
Bugs regarding systems not powering off when shutting down are hardware specific so should be separate bug reports. Additionally, not every bug comment is related to the same issue so should also be separate bug reports. If the original reporter, SilvaRizla, could provide some additional information we'd be happy to address their issue in this bug report. Please include the following information: The output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command 'dmesg dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file 'dmesg.log' to this bug report. 3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report. 4. And the output of the command 'sudo dmidecode' as an attachment. For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel- related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . [Bug 226356] Re: package linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-17-rt 2.6.24-17.24 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Looking at ShelJ's DpkgTerminalLog.txt I'm seeing the following: gzip: stdout: No space left on device which means just what it says - you ran out of disk space. You'd likely need to remove older kernels that you don't use/need to free up space.
