[Bug 343870] Re: php-cli segmentation fault with mysql extension
As the last libmysqlclient15off update (5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10.2) still seem to contains this bug, I'll try to explain (repeat) the description of how to test for the bug as in: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524366 In short: Compare the output of while [ 1 ]; do echo '?php echo toto tata \n;' | php; done with while [ 1 ]; do echo '?php echo toto tata \n;' | php -n; done -n disables loading of php modules. I have downgraded to the version in deb http://people.debian.org/~seanius/mysql/513204/amd64 ./ and the problem went away. Let me know if I can help in any way to resolve this. Hey Trent, Nominations for server-related bugs are discussed weekly at the Ubuntu Server team meeting [1]. FWIW, I see this as well. A /etc/init.d/ssh restart does clear everything out and ssh is ok for a while. [Bug 343738] Re: vsftpd max username length too small
Patch seems obvious enough. Accepting for hardy. Next step is to prepare a proper SRU report: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure Update the bug report description and make sure it contains the following information: 1. A statement explaining the impact of the bug on users and justification for backporting the fix to the stable release 2. An explanation of how the bug has been addressed in the development branch, including the relevant version numbers of packages modified in order to implement the fix. 3. A minimal patch applicable to the stable version of the package. If preparing a patch is likely to be time-consuming, it may be preferable to get a general approval from the SRU team first. 4. Detailed instructions how to reproduce the bug. These should allow someone who is not familiar with the affected package to reproduce the bug and verify that the updated package fixes the problem. Please mark this with a line TEST CASE:. 5. A discussion of the regression potential of the patch and how users could get inadvertently affected. ** Also affects: vsftpd (Ubuntu Hardy) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- vsftpd max username length too small https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343738 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vsftpd in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Note: when the systems hangs I wait only for couple of minutes and then reboot. (the keyboard is fully responsive may be if i wait a couple of minutes more the system could continue to boot, I will let you know) Obviously i don´t get any idea about the soruce of this problem or why the workaround works... Matt Zimmerman [2009-08-10 8:59 -]: I've been seeing spurious suspends immediately after resume over the past week in Karmic. Indeed I got that once as well. However, it also happens with that patch applied, so I believe it's a different cause now. Can you reproduce the double-suspend with version 2.27.5-0ubuntu1.test1 in https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ppa ? If so, then we really don't need that old patch any more. [Bug 386307] Re: -java package should not recommend -java-gcj counterpart on all architectures
Alvin: The rationale for those packages is slightly different, since not fixing it will not result in a oversized server CD, which makes those a lot less critical. In particular, the trick I've been mostly using (building the package for any architecture, rather than once for all) is costly in terms of resources, so we wanted to limit it to a few key packages. However this question might be revisited for next release as we move to JIT capabilities on alternate archs, and then using Suggests will have no downside. I'd suggest opening another bug to track the remaining ones (with one package task for each source package, using Also affects distribution...) Sorry to hear that, I use version in-built from Ubuntu and I have no problem since installed... however still collecting clues about this one. What about your Java? I am using OOo 3.0.1 (Build:9379), the actual in repositories, also on 9.04 . the bug on my part perfectly fit the original report description by Soroosh Radpoor. the bug is not fixed, and it turns OOo usage to nightmare for me. 2009/8/24 egiova egiov...@gmail.com It seems to be a Java thing. Last time I had this problem, I decided to desintall and reinstall. It seems that this bug is fixed in Ooo 3.0. For me the bug desapear after fresh install (I work on Ubuntu 9.04). Sorry to not be able to help more than that. Good luck EG 2009/8/23 Khaled Khalil khaled.kha...@gmail.com I have the same issue here, OpenOffice is simply unusable for me, i have to write in other text editor and then paste it to OOo writer. Unfortunately Filofel's work around will not work for me, my case is more like Soroosh Radpoor's, Arabic and Persian languages don't have upper/letter case for the letter, hence no capitals. what i can't seem to understand is that the problem occurs whenever i typed a two character word, grammatically valid or not, there is many such words in Arabic, like مع من أن لن كي طظ في أأ بط etc. isn't there anyway to turn auto-correct off ? in case that's what fires the bug really. -- [upstream] caps lock key should not be polled directly - openoffice switches keyboard layout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227326 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of a duplicate bug.
