[Bug 363245] Re: gtk_main leaks a file descriptor every time the main loop is run if threads have been initialized
Nicola, you seem to be right. From what I can tell, the offending code is very nearly copy/pasted into pygobject in pygmainloop.c:pyg_signal_watch_prepare. As far as I can see, pygtk should be invoking this code, not duplicating it. ** Also affects: pygobject Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: pygobject (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gtk_main leaks a file descriptor every time the main loop is run if threads have been initialized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363245 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 434511] [NEW] ALC861 : Mic does not work after installation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alsa-base Hi! I'm currently trying to get the mic to work an a friend's Toshiba A100. First I installed Ubuntu 9.04 and tried to record using audacity and the audio-recorder but had no luck. Then I upgraded to 9.10 (Alpha 6) but that didn't help. Within karmic, audio-recorder even crashes on exit and sound playback is a little bit choppy and strange noises occur when switching between windows or minimizing/maximizing them. However, playback works while recording does not. The weirdest thing about this bug is that is does NOT occur when using the live system! I tried both 9.04 and 9.10 A6 live CD and succeeded to record and playback my own voice using an external mic (there is no builtin mic). But after the installation the mic stops working! Because of that, I believe that it's a configuration issue rather than a bug within the driver. I commented out all options within alsa-base.conf (hoping to reproduce the settings from within the live session) but it did not help. Does anybody have some suggestions? [Bug 434516] [NEW] ipython (readline?) autocomplete issue
Public bug reported: $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release:9.10 $ apt-cache policy ipython ipython: Installed: 0.9.1-3ubuntu2 Candidate: 0.9.1-3ubuntu2 Version table: *** 0.9.1-3ubuntu2 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Enter name of existing object, then dot, then begin to enter method name. [Bug 314600] Re: [HD 3650] fglrx versions newer than 8.543 cause system hang and panic
Hi, I faced the fglrx bug on my Jaunty upgrade with my EliteBook 8530p and ATI HD 3650. I solved it with the Catalyst version 9.5 and 9.6 (8.620) which seems quite stable (the --acpi-services=off was still necessary) downloaded from the ATI site. I've also tryed the Catalyst 9.7, 9.8 and the latest 9.9. But: - 9.7 and 9.8 have an annoying black flickering when paging up and down (for example inside a Gnome Terminal at full screen, or in Firefox) - 9.9 is IMHO completely broken, just after the installation I got a Kernel NULL pointer error Obviously I'm sticking to 9.6 :-) So my question is: which version of Catalyst are you using for Karmic? [Bug 434521] [NEW] Pulseaudio refuses to use internal microphone input (Lenovo X300)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio Pulseaudio seems to have decided that the ALSA Mic capture device on my machine is the only one it will use. Internal Mic is the correct one (at least when no external mic is plugged in). If I use alsamixer to switch to the correct capture device, the pulseaudio volume controls instantly marks its input device as muted (and no sound is captured with, e.g., gnome sound recorder). Un-muting within the pulseaudio volume control again switches the alsa mixer back to the incorrect Mic device (which captures only noise). There doesn't seem to be any way to tell pulseaudio which capture channel to use. Pulseaudio level meter show the same thing - noise when the incorrect Mic device is active, but completely muted if alsamixer is used to change to the right device. Everything works fine if I boot a jaunty live disk - the alsa configuration and device detection seems exactly the same, but alsamixer can be used to switch active devices underneath pulseaudio. Sound recorder and pulseaudio level meters show noise on the Mic device, but correct capture when the Internal Mic is active. (And muting with the pulseaudio only deselects the Capture level control in alsamixer, it does not activate Mic and deactivate Internal Mic.) This may be a duplicate of Bug #414215, but it didn't seem quite the same to me. [Bug 434520] [NEW] Pulseaudio refuses to use internal microphone input (Lenovo X300)
[Bug 434528] [NEW] Mobile Broadband disconnects. Reboot needed.
Public bug reported: My Huawei E220 dongle has started to disconnect every now and then. It can run fine for several hours, but suddenly it can disconnect and I cannot connect again no matter what I do (click reconnect, physically disconnect the USB-device and plug it back in). The only solution is a reboot after which everything is just fine again. Here's a log that's hopefully around the time of a proper connection of the device followed by disconnection and several attempts to get it connected.
