[Bug 412664] Re: very hard to firewall eucalyptus securely
I've not looked at this *at all*, but one thought is to have a eucalyptus chain (or chains) that eucalyptus manages. It can add the chain on boot, and then add rules to the chain. Then it can manage the chain however it wants (even flush it). Once added, the chain is never removed from the BUILTIN chain, so then its location can be depended on across reboots and flushes, making firewalling outside of eucalyptus easier. -- very hard to firewall eucalyptus securely https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412664 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Etienne- Hmm, this is a bit easier said than done. We can't run kvm-ok directly, because the package that provides kvm-ok may be being installed at that time. Note that there's another bug where we're trying to get kvm-ok into the base system files and out of qemu-kvm, Bug #429443. However, kvm-ok's real meat is a very simple grep of /proc/cpuinfo. That's certainly something that we can do. I disagree with the concept of a dialog box, or anything interactive that would hamper unattended installations. [Bug 429781] Re: snapshots created in 1.5 do not get imported to 1.6
It has to do with migrating snapshots created with version 1.5 to 1.6. If you create a snapshot in 1.5 and upgrade to 1.6 (not clean install), your old snapshots may not be available (in multi component/multi cluster mode). There is a fix for the migration in the head, but part of the process requires running a database import script offline.
