The problem also exists for bash commandline. Cursor keys are handled with a one-second delay (approx.), whereas other keys are handled immediately. [Bug 499940] Re: [lucid regression] does not resume from hibernation, restarts fresh
The resume=/dev/sda* method works for me; I added it to /etc/default/grub and ran update-grub to make it permanent. I do see fsck running (recovering journal) when I resume, even though resume is working properly. [Bug 509079] Re: nautilus has tabs on bottom
I think this is a bit of a regression. Why would this be changed? I know the extra pane has been added, but to move tabs from the top to the bottom is a long way! At the very least this should be customisable in the Nautilus preferences. Seriously, having the tabs at the bottom of the screen is like having the tabs on manila folders at the bottom of the filing cabinet drawer. It just doesn't make sense, when you're changing tabs you're probably going to be changing the file path at the same time, and having to move to the bottom of the screen is stupid and time-consuming. -- nautilus has tabs on bottom https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509079 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 201887] Re: Slim USB Apple Keyboard not working correctly when pressing the numlock key
Hey guys...I'm seeing a very similar problem to this bug. I'm using karmic with latest updates on a 'regular' PC and an Apple bluetooth keyboard. This keyboard has no number pad at all and is very much like a laptop keyboard (which is what I select in the 'keyboard' preferences). The symptoms are : 1) I can log in ok without having to do anything special, but 2) once logged in, it behaves as if the keyboard has been put into a number mode, so some of the letter keys actually produce numbers on the screen Pressing fn-f6 twice fixes the problem, but I would like to avoid having to do this. Any ideas? [Bug 366728] Re: LD_LIBRARY_PATH not loading from .profile nor /etc/environment
It seems the proper way to add to LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not by using that env anymore, but by using ldconfig and /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf files. 1. Add the ld.so configuration file : echo /opt/qt-mobility-src-1.0.0-tp2/install/lib | sudo tee /etc/ld.so.conf.d/qt-mobility.conf 2. Update the cache sudo ldconfig -v Now the libraries are in your ld library path. No messing with /etc/environment. And if you later decide to uninstall the libraries, just remove the conf file and run sudo ldconfig again. Cleaner solution for me. I just wonder if this is also portable to other distros beside Ubuntu? (since LD_LIBRARY_PATH supposedly works on all Linux distros) See http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing- Lists/Ubuntu/2008-02/msg02742.html for rationale. AFAIK LD_LIBRARY_PATH is unset in ubuntu, since the libraries are all where they should be:) -- LD_LIBRARY_PATH not loading from .profile nor /etc/environment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 515041] [NEW] fusermount of fuse-utils 2.7.2-1ubuntu2.1 (hardy) fails to unmount sshfs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: fuse-utils Hi! This seems to be a regression. On Jan 30, using fuse-utils 2.7.2-1ubuntu2, everything works fine, I mount a remote system using sshfs and unmounting via fusermount -u mountpoint On Jan 30 I installed the upgrade of fuseutils and libfuse2 to version 2.7.2-1ubuntu2.1 Since then, fusermount -u mountpoint fails with this error message: fusermount: failed to clone namespace: Operation not permitted I was not able to find this phrase anywhere in the net using google. Downgrade to 2.7.2-1ubuntu2 fixes the problem. I hope that this is not somehow connected to the fact, that my affected machine is a OpenVZ vserver (Strato Hosting in Germany). With this technique, by server does not have kernel and modules in the visible file system, so perhaps it's a mismatch between fuse-module and fuse- utils? ** Affects: fuse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- fusermount of fuse-utils 2.7.2-1ubuntu2.1 (hardy) fails to unmount sshfs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515041 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hello everybody, I posted some time ago a font redering problem with evince/poppler, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/419715. It turns out that all the examples in the present post are displayed properly for me, yet the pdf in the bug report mentioned is still hardly readable. It happens very frequently to me, and I need to switch to xpdf, which works fine. For instance, I took a random article today just to check, and the first I tried did not work properly, see http://projecteuclid.org/DPubS/Repository/1.0/Disseminate?view=bodyid=pdf_1handle=euclid.cmp/1158328654. -- Low quality of text rendering in Evince https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
