a) It was configured through wicd's interface. b) I think you are probably on the right track here. The DNS server was set as my router since it passes on request. When I disabled it, I also disabled static DNS. Now /etc/resolv.conf has two extra entries first to actual DNS servers. But wouldn't you know it, I can't even replicate the exact problem by setting a static IP and /etc/resolve.conf only containing the static DNS of my router. However, I've been having some other networking issues after setting the router to be the DNS. It seems to be causing the router to fall over. Sorry for what seems to be a false alert. The thing that grinds my gears is that I've been looking for a solution for a while now, but happened upon a single mention on a forum that qemu user-mode networking sometimes has problems with a static wireless host device. In short, I think we can probably close this as being a problem with my router. I agree with Colin, I think you can replace the old call to dh_installinit with just a bare 'dh_installinit', and the upstart file (which appears to be named correctly) will be placed in the appropriate place. I was able to repeat the steps, and agree with your assessment that the reload signal is getting delivered before the server has even registered its signal handlers. I set it to medium, because it might expose the php code of an unsuspecting user until they restart the server. One workaround would be to restart, rather than force-reload, in libapache2-mod-php5.postinst. Tried your suggestion with my current working setup and it couldn't claim the interface and timed out after about 10 seconds. Then I stopped nut and tried it again and it stopped in 5 seconds. Restarting nut produces output again. I attached the log. I'm not sure what else needs to be done. Maybe unplug and replug the usb. In reviewing your email with my teamyou are right. I am pretty sure the admin how ran into the bug used the OCF script instead of the init.d to try to match what heartbeat is doing. Looking at ocf it doesn't use apache2ctl, it uses /usr/sbin/apache2. I will retract my bug report from you and add your additional information the the heartbeat report. This directory is needed to support mod_ssl which makes use of it to store SSLSessionCache and SSLMutex. Apache2 cannot be started with ssl enabled and the /var/run/apache2 is directory missing. It will log the following message [Thu Jul 08 00:15:15 2010] [error] (2)No such file or directory: Cannot create SSLMutex with file `/var/run/apache2/ssl_mutex' Configuration Failed The solution is to recreat this directory. I am using the following code stub [ -d /var/run/apache2 ] || mkdir /var/run/apache2 There are several solutions to this issue 1) Ensure /var/run/apche2 doesn't get deleted on reboot 2) Ensure startup scripts verify /var/run/apche2 exists and create it if missing 3) In /etc/apache2/mods-available/ssl.conf adjust SSLSessionCache and SSLMutex to store these in a more permanent location. I also have run into this issue while using the OCF startup script included with the heartbeat package. I purged banshee, then reinstalled, worked fine, till I installed the banshee-community-extensions. It crashed again. I kept on uninstalling extensions one by one, and re-launch banshee to see if it works or not. Finally after uninstalling banshee-extension- mirage , banshee didn't crash anymore. Partially working for me with lucid and a TP-LINK TL-WN727N. After blacklisting rt2800usb, it can associate with an unencrypted network, However, it can't associate with a network using WPA2 encryption. With kernel 2.6.34 (as suggested in Bug #580926 ), I can connect to a WPA2 network. Wolfgang, the fn-key problem that you describe here also appeared when I went from 64-bit Karmic to Lucid on my HP ProBook 4510s, which has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD-4330. add information: I swaped motherboard from asus M4A78-EM/1394 to asus M3A78-T. There have almost compatible raid chip SB7xx. asus M4A78-EM/1394 AMD790GX +SB750 raidbios 3.0.1540.59 and 3.0.1540.39(both I tested). asus M3A78-T AMD780G+SB710 raidbios now,I can not see. I get same Gpated's snapshot on 2nd array ,M3A78-T. JUST HALF SIZE. No luck with the mentioned 2.6.32 kernel, so I removed it and went back to my previous kernel. I started playing with Brasero and K3b and K3b magically decided to work.
