[Bug 622096] [NEW] computer failed to suspend with fn+f4 but suspends from menu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager When two people are logged into my ThinkPad X61, sometimes Ubuntu refuses to suspend using the keystroke fn+f4, which is the normal way. The message is Your computer failed to suspend. The failure was reported as: Cannot suspend which by the way is also a rather pointless and uninformative message. However, if I use the mouse to select suspend from the menu in the upper right corner of the panel, it works fine. So the problem is obviously with the handling of the function key. [Bug 605128] Re: gnome-language-selector crashed with OSError in find_string_and_replace()
I have this bug as well. What happens is in utils.py, an os.rename call is made which tries to overwrite a temporarily modified home profile that is in /tmp over the actual .profile in your home directory. It fails with Invalid cross-device link. Did an strace on it all and saw a rename system call die with -1 EXDEV (Invalid cross-device link). The rename system call does not work across file-systems, and it failed. There are numerous ways to fix this, and I don't know all the details about what this package needs and why it might not to use shutil.move. Nonetheless, the current way obviously does not work for a lot of people, including myself. As I just want this to work on my system I have created a patch, and now it is working for me. The package maintainer can use my patch or do something else if they know more what is needed for a broader audience. It is working now for me though with my patch. ** Patch added: Hacked patch prevents crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-selector/+bug/605128/+attachment/1510009/+files/utils.py.diff -- gnome-language-selector crashed with OSError in find_string_and_replace() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605128 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 622107] [NEW] Bluetooth security dialog disables bluetooth KB mouse
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kbluetooth Kubuntu 10.04.1 AMD64 Live CD Once the desktop is up on the live CD, I get a security dialog requesting I allow my bluetooth key board mouse (Logitech MX 5000). As I don't have access to my bluetooth keyboard mouse I have no way to allow my keyboard mouse! I'm sure you can see the problem here! I currently don't have a spare keyboard mouse. I am unable to supply any more info as a result. This is a similar bug that I came across in both the Fedora 13 KDE GNOME live CDs. [Bug 580902] Re: Major memory leak.
I can also confirm this problem on Kubuntu 10.04 and, although I've followed the instructions to upgrade to 1.3.0, I'm sorry to have to report that 1.3.0 does not fix it for me. Although it is a definite improvement, it's still gobbling large amounts of memory (~500Mb) and it still slows down to a crawl after a while. When this happens, I'm having to exit and re-start digikam and then carry on with whatever I was doing. -- Major memory leak. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 568779] Re: [i855] 10.04 rc boots into black/blank screen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 541511 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541511 A couple of days ago I took the plunge. I upgraded the ubuntu system, that I used since 8.04LTS first came out, to 10.04.1LTS. BIG mistake. The two huting issues for my Dell Latitude D400 were: 1. The wireless network didn't cooperate until I installed some restricted package available on the Live CD. 2. The Intel 82852/855 GM/GME doesn't work unless I went ahead and used VESA with 8-bit depth. Bad news. Does anyone have a SIMPLE workaround for the GRAPHICS issue so that my resolution experience improves to 24-bit depth? There are other problems, but I'll leave those out of the picture ;-) for now!
