I started off with 9.04, went to 9.10 (karmic) and then on to 10.04 (lucid). I never had to I install or reinstall dhcp, ever. I just recently had to check into this because since the package was removed, dhcp didn't work at all anymore. I have the netbook edition of 10.04 and this is also broken on my installation. It is a mixed ipv6/ipv4 network. If you look closely in the error log above, dhcp fails, because NetworkManager adds an unknown parameter -4. If you run dhclient3 -4 on the command line, you will get the same error, so it seems that NetworkManager requires the isc version of dhcp, which strangely was available few months ago in the repository (will check later from where exactly). @release team These tools were released yesterday, so I won't pretend to have exercised them exhaustively. However, the justification for wanting to have them in maverick is: a.) The features mentioned (especially resource tagging) are significant user requested features b.) the ec2-api-tools have not really ever released bug fix releases (for better or worse), ie, most likely this release is what will be current for some time. The Whats new section at [1] list the release versions. c.) I tried scanning /sys, and it gave me the same messages, but I don't think it's a bug per se. It's more likely because /sys is a 'virtual' directory, and it has a lot of special files, clamscan gets confused while scanning it. If you run 'top', you'll see that clamscan is indeed working hard to scan some of those file (like 99-100% CPU usage for clamscan process). You could try excluding /sys (and possibly /dev ?) from scanning with the command-line option: --exclude=REGEX, --exclude-dir=REGEX Don't scan file/directory names matching regular expression. These options can be used multiple times. I'm not entirely sure whether this is udev's problem or something related to
multipathing. Our most recent experience with multipathing is the last LTS

For example, running 'multipath -v0 /dev/sda' while watching 'udevadm
monitor -e' shows one event generated for each path, each time the
multipath command is run. Each even would generate another multipath(8)
invocation.
Looks like the multipath(8) action in 95-multipath.rules is causing an
infinite event loop.

Looks like this call to multipath(8) in the udev rules was added quite a
while ago. I'm not sure where to go from here; our hardy machines don't
exhibit this behavior, and I'm not sure what's generating the events or
how to break the loop short of commenting out the udev rule action.

Thus, when you query the 'Subversion' group, you get back a list that includes www-priv. However, if you try to query the groups to which www-priv belongs, it fails to return the correct groups because it ignores www-priv, thus breaking privileges because the system then thinks www-priv is not in the Subversion group. The only work around for now is to disable the run of nssldap-update- ignoreusers. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: clamav Clamav 0.96.3 was released today and has been packaged in Debian and is intended for Squeeze (it now has something similar to a microversion release exception in Debian). This release fixes two security issues (one of which is already fixed via distro patch) and as is usually the case enables detection of newer virus threats. We should release with the current clamav. Packaging: Package is from Debian with the standard Ubuntu diff for apparmor support, dropping build-dep on electric-fence (because it's in Universe), and not shipping signatures (users will get them from clamav- data or download via freshclam). There is one minor clamav-freshclam postinst fix that's cherrypicked from Debian's next upload (it's a fix for an issue I found in my testing). Testing: Performed the most significant steps of the post-release update test process: 1. Passes all clamav tests in https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-bugcontrol/qa-regression-testing/master 2. Rebuilt all libclamav-dev reverse-build-depends to ensure they will still be buildable 3. Tested binary compatibility with klamav (this is the canary in the coal mine package for libclamav binary compatiblity) without issue Impacts on other packages: None. This is binary compatible with the current package in Maverick. Till, this is weird -- it looks more and more that either you did not make a successful upgrade to Lucid, or that you have some incorrect package repositories in place. The official network-manager for Lucid is 0.8-0ubuntu3 -- you are running 0.8-0ubuntu5~nmt5~karmic! Both wrong Ubuntu version and wrong maintenance level... and, it sounds, yours is not compatible with Lucid's dhclient3. Hi I have now tested the ISO image, by doing a fresh install on my computer. At first the device appears to work fine. It connects, with WPA encryption, and it stays connected. This is an improvement from lucid. However, there is a problem with speed. The connection is slow. I have 100% signal strength and network information says I'm connected at 54Mbps, but browsing is slow. I have double checked my connection, both with cable and by plugging the wifi dongle into my other computer (running lucid with my self-compiled driver). It must be the driver that's the problem. When I install the latest upstream kernel and boot with that, i get an error message and the computer boots to a command prompt instead of gnome. I get no further. Same here... Frequently, the GUI hangs on start playing but the song-playing does not stop. After forced reboot works fine. peakit, This is a 1 gHz Celeron with integrated i830 video Thinkpad which does a usable job at BBC video. My 2 ghz Celeron i845G video tower is better. HD video is jerky with that hardware as expected. I also test with a 3.3 gHz Celeron ati radeon Xpress 200 tower which goes as fast as my internet service will go. They're all on Maverick Beta multibooted with Lucid, Lubuntu, ... Lubuntu Maverick Beta with LXDE Chromium appears to be faster than Gnome Firefox haven't done any tests. I prefer running Lubuntu on my two slower machines while Gnome Firefox is fine on my 1.5 gHz P4 ati Thinkpad T40 and the 3.33 gHz Celeron. General impression is KMS+fbdevhw running O.K. for the two days it has been available on 2.6.35-22. I haven't done any Gtkperf video test comparisons yet vs. vesa and i915 drivers. Same problem on Dell Latitude E6410 with running Maverick 2.6.35-22-generic; nVidia proprietary drivers 256.53. Tested with 2.6.36 RC kernels and PPA nVidia drivers (260.x series from x-swat) and Xorg Edgers PPA too with same results. Results of different scenarios: 1) $ xset dpms force off - display goes off ...touching mouse and keyboard - display backlight comes up, but nothing is shown unless virtual terminal toggled or xset dpms force on command invoked 2) $ xset dpms force standby - mostly produces the same behaviour as scenario 1 - sometimes touching mouse and keyboard does not even turn on backlight and the command xset dpms force on needs to be called twice.
