[Bug 656248] [NEW] incorrect u1ms handlers

2010-10-07 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store

The current gconf-default has those key values:

/apps/rhythmbox/plugins/umusicstore/activetrue
/desktop/gnome/url_handlers/xu1ms/commandrhythmbox %s
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/xu1ms/enabledtrue

the second line has url_handler instead of url-handler and is seems
that xu1ms should just be u1ms as well

Lucid apparmor profile:

Maverick apparmor profile:

  /home/jamespage/vms/test.qcow2 rw,

[Bug 655932] Re: Chromium crashes on identi.ca

2010-10-07 Thread Fabien Tassin
I don't see any crash info attached. Is it a full browser crash or a
simple tab snap?

Could you please install chromium-browser-dbg and try the following:

chromium-browser -g --temp-profile --single-process

that will run chromium in single process mode (easier to troubleshoot)
inside gdb, and with a temporary profile (empty, removed at the end of
the session)

once inside gdb, run

and try to make it crash. If it does, please attach the stack trace
(bt and bt full) here.

(see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Chromium/Debugging for the full
instructions)

Sure, the issue is that it just doesn't monitor dynamically the files in your

Not a trivial change though for a stable version.

[Bug 334382] Re: cannot print emails from evolution

2010-10-07 Thread Antonio Cortes-Rodriguez
I am finding the same problem on Ubuntu release 10.04,
CUPS 1.4.3 and Evolution 2.28.3

Any other application can print to my network printer (samba), but when
trying to print from Evolution, the printing icon flashes, but nothing
is sent to the printer.

When analysing the list of jobs on CUPS, this is what I got:
--
▲ ID ▲Name
  User SizePages State
Epson-Stylus-Photo-830U-LAN-180 evolution job #1antonio
47k Unknown completed at Thu 07 Oct 2010 12:30:51 BST
Epson-Stylus-Photo-830U-LAN-179 Slough, West Berkshire SL3 8PT, UK to
Legoland - Google Mapsantonio 3259k 1 completed at Thu 07
Oct 2010 12:09:59 BST

These are the job from evolution (DID NOT PRINT), plus a job from
Firefox (IT DID PRINT OK)

Last two entries in CUPS accesss log (one for each of the above jobs):
-
localhost - - [07/Oct/2010:12:09:33 +0100] POST
/printers/Epson-Stylus-Photo-830U-LAN HTTP/1.1 200 3339476 Print-Job

/printers/Epson-Stylus-Photo-830U-LAN HTTP/1.1 200 50677 Print-Job
successful-ok

CUPS Page log (ONLY the job that really printed is present):
--

[Bug 43092] Re: CompactFlash PCMCIA disk is not detected

2010-10-07 Thread Lee Jones
With regards to #36:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=1c20a493caa30c5d47a394f9dbd86e6282323db9

I can't put it back in, due to possible regressions.

If we want to solve this for Hardy, we'll have to figure out another
way.

I'm fairly sure other people have Lucid running on their X31s - time to
migrate?

[Bug 615875] Re: Xubuntu: Pidgin doesn't work with Indicator Applet (xfapplet)

2010-10-07 Thread KojiroAK
The Problem seems to be with the IRC integration, it's enough to have
one highlighted in a persistent IRC Chat and open it via indicator
applet, one can't close the window with the IRC chat, one has to remove
the chat completly to be able to close the window.

Here's the Video.

Can someone please set an importance other than undecided or

change their password back to the old password.

This is not critical since there is a workaround (use passwd in a

Re: [Bug 656048] Re: package amavisd-new-postfix fails to install whenpostfix configured for 'Local only'

2010-10-07 Thread Dave Kliros
I'm very new to Linux. I just installed Ubuntu one week ago. I have no idea
at all what to tell you or how to do what you suggested. I can tell you
however, that this crash occurred AFTER I tried to remove the Clam
antivirus program. I couldn't get it to work right and decided I will just
not open any mail attachments while I am booted into Linux.

So, I tried removing Clam and as the removal process tried to complete, I
received that crash notice and was asked to send it on...so I did.

One other issue that came up during that same session is that as it updated
the installation, I noticed it download a package referencing the boot menu.
I had a triple boot setup with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Linux/Ubuntu.
As I rebooted from that session to finalize the removal of software, and the
installation of the updates to the system, it would not boot at all except
to some DOS looking screen that I've not seen before. Not a blue crash
screen, a black DOS looking screen that appeared to be asking me for some
input in order to proceed. I just ctrl/alt/delete to reboot again and used
my Windows 7 disk to repair the boot menu. I now have the old windows boot
menu, and I used easy BCD to include Ubuntu last week when I installed it.
So, on that old Windows boot menu, all of my installed systems still appear
and boot just fine with the exception of Linux/Ubuntu. When I select it to
boot it just loops me back to the Windows boot menu...so evidently, the
Ubuntu update that included the grub boot menu update with it was
responsible for removing my Windows boot menu.

dmesg output when camera is plugged in, and then an attempt is made to
use it.

Cheese was used in this instance, in the following two ways:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so cheese

and as just

cheese

Forcing use of the 32-bit library for v4lcompat.so (as recommended with
skype -- just in case!), still gives the libv4l message given in my
previous comment.

[Bug 656269] [NEW] Forward button in evolution import assistant is disabled while trying to import PST file

2010-10-07 Thread Joseph Chereshnovsky
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Trying to import PST file into my Evolution but it seams like a but with
import wizard. It doesn't shows any error messages, just the button to
the next step of wizard is disabled without any reason.

PST Import plugin is enabled in Plugins Manager Edit - Plugins

I'm clicking File - Import... to open Evolution Import Assistant.
Then I click Forward to skip a welcome screen and select to import from
single file.

After that I select my file in file selection dialog in Filename: field.
My file was correctly recognized as Outlook personal folders (.pst) in File
type: field.

But I can't click Forward button as it is disabled.

Please refer this screenshot that contains the dialog step described above:

[Bug 656100] Re: [R200] ../../radeon/radeon_cs_gem.c:181: cs_gem_write_reloc: Assertion `boi-space_accounted' failed.

2010-10-07 Thread Tormod Volden
Ouch. This can be... interesting. It seems from bug 602267 that this is
solved upstream in the gallium driver, so we can not count on upstream
help to nail this down in the classic driver. Can you also try the mesa
packages from the Radeon gallium PPA, and check whether is fixed with
gallium, or with the newest classic drivers?

2010-10-07 Thread Tormod Volden
Sorry, the Radeon gallium PPA has only Lucid packages at the moment, I
will consider making Maverick packages later. For now maybe you can try
the xorg-edgers PPA which has gallium by default as well? Or try
installing those Lucid packages in Maverick, it might work.

[Bug 656048] Re: package amavisd-new-postfix fails to install when postfix configured for 'Local only'

2010-10-07 Thread James Page
@Scott - just re-tested with you suggestion and this does work; so long
as $myhostname is defined, the package will install correctly and start.

[Bug 653843] Re: system does not hibernate

2010-10-07 Thread ks
Same problem here; nothing more than the blinking cursor. Changing to
another terminal via ctrl+alt+F1 first brings up the usual login. Then
everything freezes, even before being able to enter the first letter.

Not sure whether evince is responsible for this. Rather not, since same
thing is happening after a fresh start of Gnome, without additional
starting of programs.

Hibernation has been working perfectly well in 10.04, until I chose to
upgrade via update-manager -d just recently.

Would like to give more help, but I don't know how.

[Bug 650703] Re: oem-config-prepare works, but oem-config fails to start after reboot

2010-10-07 Thread Colin Watson
Also tried with Ubuntu alternate amd64 on real hardware. No dice.
Ronald, if it's still reproducible for you, would it be possible to
narrow it down at all so that we can construct a reproduction case?
Thanks.

[Bug 655124] Re: Network-manager-openvpn connects but can not be used

2010-10-07 Thread Mathieu Trudel
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* What is the output of 'ip route list' after you connect to the VPN?
* Is your connection set to 'Available to all users'?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.
