it appears that in 2.4.23-0ubuntu3, the nssov overlay is absent from the
package. this was not the case in the previous version
(2.4.21-0ubuntu5.2). the following files are missing:

/usr/lib/ldap/nssov.so.0.0.0
this severely breaks installations that were using the overlay, as it is
referenced from the config, but cannot be loaded, resulting in dpkg
failing and completely breaking the upgrade process:

Desktop computer A with vino-server has left-handed mouse and desktop computer B with vncview-client has left-handed mouse. It seems that vino handles mouse buttons without reading into left/right-handed mouse option. No, the mouse up issue is not solved yet, but I was on a fair one month ago and I realized, that touchscreens running under windows behave exactly the same way: when you touch the screen, it emulates a single-click, which means touching is same as left-click and moving... annoying. The far better solution would be to distinguish between soft approach = mouse-move and hard-touch = click that way you could move around the cursor without marking any icons or text etc... I also have the impression, that the sensitivity has gotten better... when using the clip controls or to snap the window edges for resize is better... Regarding my improval for the UI: I bought an android phone, and there within the phonebook there is on the right screen side 0-9A-Z from top to the bottom. When you move above them, the current letter is displayed in a huge manner in the middle of the screen so you always know, what's underneath your fingers I think, that's worth implementing in ubuntu... Regarding the X-start problem: No, I have not yet tried to reconfigure the server... it simply append after the upgrade. From looking at gnome-nettool 2.31.6 in the the maverick release, the expectation of being able to edit the MTU information in place appears to me to be unreasonable or overly optimistic. The Configure button next to the chosen interface correctly brings up the Network Manager configuration tool for me, where the MTU and other settings can be changed. In contrast, gnome-nettool is designed only for viewing network-related information. So I don't see this as an issue of missing functionality. If you are experiencing crashes it is almost certainly caused by something else. With mythvideo I now learned than I had to press M and select a scan. Than I had my videos.
