Public bug reported: Binary package hint: squid Crash occurred during an package upgrade in Update Manager... I thought it was caused by the length of time it takes to stop the squid daemon on Ubuntu. When the upgrade finished (a couple minutes later), squid started normally and appears fine since. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: squid This failure happend during the update and after choosing a checkbox, that squid change will be install automatically. The installation routine give me an information, that there are differences between the user accounts. So I think it would be better let correct the system this differences. During the installation the details-box report a failure and after I try it once more all the updates installed but not squid. I did not restart my system and after the installation-routine I deinstalled squid. I'm also hit by this bug, using it as mine main OS i get theme reverted back to default after every login, after few seconds. I can get the panel decoration back killing gnome-settings-daemon and restarting it, but the icons and overall theme is the default one. I have the same problem.. it happens only with compiz. Metacity works fine. I run gnome desktop. The cursor turns into a pointer and ignores clicks, you can still type in the current window but alt + tab doesn´t work. I do a restart gdm via ctrl + alt + f2 - login - sudo when it happens.. EeePC crashes hard - no response from mouse, screen freezes, ctrl-alt-del does nothing, SysReq-REISUB does nothing. I have to hold power button until off. This has led top me needing to reinstall ubuntu from live USB many, many times. Now I just don;t use on mains power at all, as the problem seems to have gotten even worse recently on 10.10. It seems even more common when auto-update runs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled gnome-power-manager, but to no avail. I have tried gdb via putty, but the network connection on the EeePC crashes too, so I can't get a full report. I love Ubuntu..if only I could fix this!
