[Bug 802367] [NEW] snmpd reports truncating integer value 32 bits at ERROR loglevel, should be DEBUG

2011-06-27 Thread William Van Hevelingen
Public bug reported:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=5;bug=597024

The truncating integer value 32 bits logline should not be emitted
at the ERROR loglevel. On 64 bit machines there may be several counters
which are truncated and the truncation behavior is a natural result of
returning 32 bit counters. This logline should be emitted at INFO or
DEBUG loglevel so that sensible logging options maybe used with out this
logline spamming logs.

Theres' a patch on the debian bug tracker, but there doesn't appear to
be any movement. I'm hoping ubuntu can get the patch pushed upstream.

[Bug 802372] [NEW] windows clients unable to connect to samba after KB2536276

2011-06-27 Thread Alexis Roda
Public bug reported:

After installing the windows security update KB2536276 some of my
windows clients were unable to connect to a samba server. This is a
known issue described here:

  https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8238

I have applied the patch and rebuilt the samba .deb package and it
solved the issue, but it would be nice to have the patch applied to
forthcoming samba releases.

it's not a security vulnerability, because the bug is in mysql - command line

still it's a bug, that should be fixed.

[Bug 660428] Re: nova-objectstore start errors after install

2011-06-27 Thread Thierry Carrez
@Joseph Heck: please open a separate bug and post the error message
there. The fix for this bug is still in current nova, so it's probably
the same symptoms but a different bug.

[Blueprint server-o-mysql] MySQL has become more than just MySQL, we should make it easy to integrate all variants

2011-06-27 Thread Clint Byrum
Blueprint changed by Clint Byrum:

Whiteboard changed:
Status: Sponsorship of 5.5 into experimental is pending. Time running
out for an oneiric transition on libmysqlclient.

+ promote mysql-5.5 to main: TODO
+ remove mysql-5.1: TODO

new client lib: TODO

  = Discussion =

  == Packaging ==
  5.1 in Universe
   - provides safe upgrade path
  5.5 in Main

  == Ideas ==
  - mysql-server depends on mysql_alternative_1 OR mysql_alternative_2 OR ...
(requires alternatives to be in Main)
  - unique source package for all alternatives
  - parallel instalation of alternatives

  == ACTIONS ==
Find a way to package and MariaDB!

  - MySQL 5.5 into Debian and Oneiric Soon
  - Change mysql-server to a virtual package which depends on
mysql-server-5.5 | percona-server-5.5 | mariadb-server-5.5 ?
  - Drizzle is probably enoug of a fork that it cannot be included in the
'mysql-server' depends
  - libmysqlclient should come from upstream
  - What about plugins like XtraBackup and Handlersocket?

  = Comments =

  * Dont forget to do rebuilds for the newer libmysqlclient16 to
  libmysqlclient17.

[Bug 615077] Re: [Maverick] SDL local window broken in last update

2011-06-27 Thread Jamie Strandboge
FYI, it looks like if you add the following to your xhost, then you will be
able to use an SDL window:
xhost +SI:localgroup:kvm

If you've configured libvirt to run kvm as root, you would use:
xhost +SI:localgroup:root

See 'man Xsecurity' for details.

[Bug 802565] [NEW] Arbitrary file limit in garbage-collection cron script causes loss of service

2011-06-27 Thread Chris Fryer
Public bug reported:

PHP in Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS includes /etc/cron.d/php5:

 09,39 * * * * root [ -x /usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime ] [ -d
/var/lib/php5 ] find /var/lib/php5/ -type f -cmin
+$(/usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime) -print0 | xargs -n 200 -r -0 rm

$ dpkg -S /etc/cron.d/php5
php5-common: /etc/cron.d/php5

if your server generates PHP sessions faster than they can be deleted by
the cron job, the disk on which /var/lib/php5 is located will run out of
inodes, and thence to a loss of service.

It is caused by this upstream workaround:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=461755#20

The latest version of the cron job that does PHP session garbage
collection is here:

http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-
php/php.git;a=blob;f=debian/php5-common.php5.cron.d;hb=HEAD

This is related to Bug #316441 and Bug #482720

** Affects: php5 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 523714] Re: update-manager shows no changelog for various packages

2011-06-27 Thread zigi
Hi,

A few days ago the server was unavailable changelogs.ubuntu.com.
Since this time no changelogs are available again for new versions of
packages. This problem affects at least the development version of
Ubuntu - Oneiric.

[Bug 798935] Re: Unity blank screen after suspend

2011-06-27 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
It is important that you also tried with Ubuntu Classic, as the problem
of suspending may be a problem with the Linux kernel and not Unity.

Also, to complete the information in this bug run the command apport-
collect bug_number via Run Application or terminal window., that is

apport-collect 798935

As for the other bugs try to open specific bugs for each one. Usually
ubuntu-bug package should work to report your bugs.

Re: [Bug 783069] Re: Flash slows down with Unity

2011-06-27 Thread Neil Wilson
That response looks more like assumption than investigation.

It does precisely the same with Flash Youtube videos. And it slows the
entire Unity interface down.

And it also recovers after about two minutes once pulseaudio gets over
whatever panic attack causes it to use up most of the cpu.

The problem appears to be with pulseaudio or something sending messages to
pulseaudio.

Have we got to the stage where we're not bothering investigating bugs
properly? Do I need to stop reporting them?

On 26 June 2011 08:44, Bilal Akhtar bilalakh...@ubuntu.com wrote:

That's not because of flash (Angry Birds uses WebGL for graphics and
flash for sound). Seems like your GPU isn't excellent enough for WebGL
and/or Chromium is defaulting to software rendering using libosmesa. In
any case, this isn't a Unity bug, but a limitation due to your hardware.
 Closing bug.

So it might look like this is fixed, i have been using git nightly

[Bug 802368] [NEW] update-notifier wakes up 3 times a second while update-manager is running

Public bug reported:

While doing an upgrade from natty to oneiric, I noticed in powertop that
update-notifier was waking up the system 3-5 times per second:

If you don't use lilo, but grub for booting deinstall it. That should
fix your error.

[Bug 801841] Re: Discover card not working

2011-06-27 Thread Michael Nelson
I've added the payment service project as a target, as software center
agent just delegates to it.

I had a brief look at the payment code, and it seems that certain card-
types didn't work with the Bibit test service that we use (DISCOVER was
one of them), and were special-cased in specific scenarios
(bibit/payment/offline_client), but Ricardo and his team will be able to
tell us more.

mkinitramfs: missing loop root /dev/loop0 /sys entry
mkinitramfs: workaround is MODULES=most
mkinitramfs: Error please report the bug

This is fixed in a newer initramfs-tools.

Currently you should be using MODULES=most as indicated in the logs. See where
it is defined
egrep -r MODULES /etc/initramfs-tools/
and edit with sudo gedit filepath the corresponding files to have them set on
MODULES=most and not dep.

[Bug 802372] [NEW] windows clients unable to connect to samba after KB2536276

2011-06-27 Thread Alexis Roda
Public bug reported:

After installing the windows security update KB2536276 some of my
windows clients were unable to connect to a samba server. This is a
known issue described here:

  https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8238

solved the issue, but it would be nice to have the patch applied to
forthcoming samba releases.

[Bug 504645] Re: Brasero won't accept FLAC files for audio disc project

2011-06-27 Thread ricardisimo
That doesn't really fix the problem any more than my using k3b does.
Brasero should always be able to burn a flac music file to an audio
disc, especially if k3b can do it. It's flac... it's not some bizarre
proprietary Sony DRM format. This is ridiculous.

[Bug 504645] Re: Brasero won't accept FLAC files for audio disc project

2011-06-27 Thread ricardisimo
By the way, one odd little detail. When I run brasero from the terminal,
encountering this flac problem, the only error reported is this:
:~$ brasero

** (brasero:4536): WARNING **: ERROR loading background pix : Failed to
open file '/usr/share/brasero/logo.png': No such file or directory

I doubt very much that this is the culprit, but sillier things have
happened.

2011-06-27 Thread maximilian attems
cp: Aufruf von stat für
„/usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/module-files.d/libpango1.0-0.modules“ nicht möglich:
Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
cp: Aufruf von stat für „/usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so“ nicht
möglich: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
E: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/plymouth failed with return 1.

Most likely fixed in newer plymouth.

** Package changed: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) = plymouth (Ubuntu)
