[Bug 809218] [NEW] Cobbler should generate a usable /etc/rsyncd.conf file but doesn't
Public bug reported: `cat /etc/lsb-release` DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=11.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=natty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=Ubuntu 11.04 `apt-cache policy cobbler` cobbler: Installed: 2.1.0-0ubuntu7 Candidate: 2.1.0-0ubuntu7 Version table: *** 2.1.0-0ubuntu7 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Expected: In order to make use of the cobbler replicate feature to sync between two cobbler servers, Cobbler is supposed to generate a usable /etc/rsyncd.conf file based on /etc/cobbler/rsyncd.template. A fresh install of Cobbler does not generate this file at all on an Ubuntu system. I don't run RHEL or CentOS cobbler instances so I can't confirm whether or not this is Ubuntu specific though. What Happens: The documentation for cobbler says that the Rsync ops should be handled over SSH or scp, but this is not the case at all as it tries to connect to the non-existent Rsync server on the master when trying to sync, which fails. Workaround: Manually building the config for rsyncd.conf using the template as a guide works without issue it just appears that cobbler never tries to generate it during `cobbler sync` or a restart of cobbler. ** Affects: cobbler (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cobbler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/809218 Title: Cobbler should generate a usable /etc/rsyncd.conf file but doesn't To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cobbler/+bug/809218/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 74647] Re: php5-gd not using bundled GD library
I installed PHP 5.2.X on Lucid which normally comes with 5.3.X as I have old code I cannot yet change. This lead to a headache recompiling PHP with the proper GD library because libaprutil1-dev and apache2-prefork-dev depend on their respective non-dev packages, so in order to satisfy the dependencies necessary for recompiling this older version of PHP, you have to download .deb files for these two packages, modify /etc/apt/sources.list back so it uses karmic instead of lucid as you usually have to do in order to install the PHP 5.2.X packages from karmic, install all OTHER dependencies, change /etc/apt.sources.list back, force install of these .deb packages with dpkg --force-depends -i [packagename], THEN you can compile, then you can uninstall all this crap it installed to compile, and THEN you can replace your currently running version of php5-gd with your newly compiled php5-gd .deb file (as altering and recompiling the source package also compiles all the subpackages as well). I mentioned most if not all of the commands I ran in order to accomplish this under bug #809400 incase any of you don't know how to do all this and need some help figuring it out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74647 Title: php5-gd not using bundled GD library To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mantis/+bug/74647/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 74647] Re: php5-gd not using bundled GD library
would be awesome if this would be done, or if an optional php5-gd- boutell package could be created that does this. [Bug 796216] Re: failed to create\start vm
Thanks, Max. The libvirt version you have installed is not an official one. It appears to have come from https://launchpad.net/~dnjl/+archive/build Did you intend to use that version? If not, you can remove that ppa or, if you need the ppa for other packages, you can pin libvirt to a supported version. If you did intend to use that version, then you might ask the ppa author about the bug. To debug it, you'll want to run libvirtd by hand to look at debugging information, and look at /var/log/libvirt/*. My guess would be that this version of libvirt is failing to start because of too old a kernel. A backported kernel may fix it for you. I'm marking this invalid as the package is not supported. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796216 Title: failed to create\start vm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/796216/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 346386] Re: [MASTER] Update fails with invalid package files with Encountered a section with no Package: header
@Steven and others: The package management programs store information about available packages, their versions, and their sources in some files on your computer. The problem that you encounter is caused by wrong contents in some of these files. The recently published changes in the apt package prevent that running a package management update command creates new files with wrong contents, but they do not solve the problem if you have already such situation on your system. To clean up this status please see https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+faq/1591 Either run: sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists sudo mkdir /var/lib/apt/lists sudo mkdir /var/lib/apt/lists/partial or perform a full package management troubleshooting as described in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346386 Title: [MASTER] Update fails with invalid package files with Encountered a section with no Package: header To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/346386/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 809155] [NEW] The slider (carousel) at the top of the page on apple.com/mac doesn't work on Firefox
Public bug reported: This worked well in Firefox 4. It works well in the latest version of Chromium. It looks alright in Opera Next, but doesn't seem to work though. In FF (the stable as well as the Aurora channel updates), however, the slider looks completely weird as you can see if you go to that page (also in the attached screenshot). Perhaps this is an issue with web standards compliance on Apple's part, but if a website as popular as that one doesn't look right, I suppose it might be a problem for the users of FF. Therefore, I thought it might be worth highlighting it. I did highlight this in the feedback form when I was using 5.0 alpha versions too, but looks like it somehow got overlooked. [Bug 736661]
The problem seems to be that promote_decl_mode() is changing the value returned from the pair constructor from HImode to BLKmode: (gdb) p debug_tree(decl) result_decl 0x2b61ea80 D.2836 type record_type 0x2b5d9930 pair no-force-blk type_5 type_6 BLK size integer_cst 0x2aaf05f0 constant 16 unit size integer_cst 0x2aaf0618 constant 2 align 8 symtab 0 alias set -1 canonical type 0x2b5d9930 fields field_decl 0x2b5f1d10 first type boolean_type 0x2ab0 bool unsigned nonlocal decl_3 QI file PR48660.cpp line 6 col 7 size integer_cst 0x2aaf04b0 constant 8 unit size integer_cst 0x2aaf04d8 constant 1 align 8 offset_align 64 offset integer_cst 0x2aaf0410 constant 0 bit offset integer_cst 0x2aaf0e38 constant 0 context record_type 0x2b5d9930 pair chain field_decl 0x2b5f1da8 second context translation_unit_decl 0x2aafb508 D.1 full-name struct pairbool, bool X() X(constX) this=(X) n_parents=0 use_template=1 interface-unknown pointer_to_this pointer_type 0x2b603150 chain type_decl 0x2b5ce958 pair used ignored regdecl BLK file PR48660.cpp line 31 col 1 size integer_cst 0x2aaf05f0 16 unit size integer_cst 0x2aaf0618 2 align 8 (reg:HI 140 [ retval ]) This is in turn happening because DECL_MODE (decl) == BLKmode, while in the caller, GET_MODE (decl_rtl) == HImode. It's not clear to me whether the rtx expression should have been in BLKmode in the first place, or whether expand_expr_real_1() should tolerate the conversion. The context in expand_expr_real_1() suggests that the point of the call to promote_decl_mode() was to get the signedness of the result, and the only use of its return value is in the gcc_assert(). I will check whether moving the gcc_assert() inside the results in promote_function_mode() branch results in correct code; however, that may just be papering over a real problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/736661 Title: armel FTBFS due to compiler ICE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gcc/+bug/736661/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for the tip, Wayne! Unfortunately, this mismatch between headers and message bodies occurs both in TB3 AND TB5 for me. I noticed it first with TB3 on Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit. With Win 7 on a different machine I went for TB 5 as soon as it was available. I specifically created a new profile bearing in mind that there might be compatibility issues. [Bug 491170]
Since I thought of the BetterConversation plugin as the culprit for the mismatch bewteen headers and message bodies I deactivated it. I decided to use on-board functions from Thunderbird 5 to have a similar functionality: I enabled grouping by topic and copied all my sent messages to the respective folders with received mails to get complete conversations/threads of a certain topic. The reorganization culminated in the fusion of two archive folders, one for received, the other for sent mails. Combined, there are now some 11000 messages worth of 900 MB in one folder. After the join I compacted the parent folder and subsequently realized many messages with wrong headers. Repair folders fixed it. Might the folder compaction algorithm be involved in the problem? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491170 Title: Wrong E-Mail displayed in message pane To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/491170/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 490935]
I am also looking for this for TB 5, and would like the same functionality TB Header Tools had, and the stability of that original add-on so my mail doesn't get hosed up as can happen with the unofficial hack, as it was called above. FWIW, I agree that the original subject should NOT be overwritten, as apparently happens with the MailTags suggestion listed above. The optimum implementation IMHO would be the ability to highlight the subject and just edit it right there (which even the nefarious Outlook has). Second most optimum is the right-click option method, and last (mildly inconvenient but worlds better than no option at all) is to drill down for the option through the Message menu. It would be most ideal to have this functionality in TB itself...and even I'm okay with having to go into Config Editor to manually enable it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/490935 Title: it is not possible to modify email subject To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/490935/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 490935]
Point of information: MailTags does NOT overwrite the original subject. The original subject displays when you view the message. The subject is only changed in the mailbox listing. I agree that the optimum implementation, which the original Eudora does (I'm still running Eudora on my Mac and will do so until Lion) is the ability to highlight the subject and change it. Eudora has an editable subject line field at the top of the email message, as well as a Subject: display within the email that retains the original subject.
