Thinking that perhaps I had done something to cause this, I re-installed Ubuntu 11.04. After the install, I used the Sharing Options Feature in Nautilus to install the Samba software and share some folders. After logging out and back in, the problem persists: From my XP box I see two copies of this machine in the network machines list. I cannot log in to either one. The same error message comes up. Is there any further information that is needed to diagnose this? Files? Logs? I see the same issue reported on my server every once in a while. The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was called for PID 1361 (/usr/sbin/winbindd). Um, it should just fall back to the next sanserif font in the list, no? That's the behavior intended. ie, if it can get to the font, great, you'll have pretty Ubuntu fonts. If not, it just moves to the next font in the list, right? sorry I could have given more information on the first post. This probleme starded with Oneric. with earlier snapshot of Oneiric ( Alpha 1/2 ) I was able to unzip a file. I have localized a zip file I have modified in the past on Oneiric, from the Properties menu, the last time the file was changed is the 31th July 2011. I have no issues with rar/tar /iso file. I tested with Thunderbird on Virtualbox machine running XP with network adapter set to NAT. Sending mail failed with timeout after 2% sent , so I guess the problem is with underlying network level. [Bug 834420] [NEW] cpufreq throttling down clock while cpu on full load and never recover
Public bug reported: Hello, I've run a very CPU intensive task on my Laptop, which used both kernel about 100%. If the system is fresh restarted from cold boot. I can run the application about 15 minutes and both cores of the CPU running with her maximum clock rate. After that time, the cpufreq throttling the clock-rate from maximum to minimum possible value (2533 to 800 in this case). This is obviously wrong, but it's even worse that it stuck a 800 MHz all time from now on. I have stop my application and I’ve tried also to change the governor (also in the first place) and the minimum clock- speed over the /sys/ interface. But it seems that nothing can change the clock-speed to get higher then 800 MHz. Only a cold reboot will recover the full clock-speed of the CPU, but as I write, only for round about 15 minutes from them. Thanks for you help and please let me know when more information or actions from my side are required. I'm willing to help to get to the bottom of it, since it effects the performance of my laptop in such a bad way, that productive working is now longer possible. [Bug 629843] Re: No smooth scrolling in Gwibber
I think this is equally noticeable in the GTK version of gwibber (3.1.6). It is quite hard to visually follow the stream while scrolling with these discrete jumps. I think the human eye needs a hit as to how far/how fast an item moved. Sorry, it seems that your system is broken. Did you have an harddrive error? Did you delete some files in /var/cache/apt/archive manually?
