I have the same problem. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04, and Banshee 2.0 (2.0.0). The first time you sink an iPod this doesn't occur, but every time you sink the iPod after that it does. Maybe just here/, though I've seen others report some of the symptoms there is the check_gl_texture_size crashed with SIGSEGV in __libc_start_main() crash which usually accompanies this when using the current gnome-desktop packages The roaf packages prevent the crash but not this bug To see I downgraded the raof packages, gnome-desktop3-data ; libgnome-desktop-3-2 waited for a re-occurrence Over the course of 2 hrs of normal use did an occasional log out/in and or restart Eventually the crash happened though did take quite some time With the repo gnome-desktop packages when this occurred the check_gl crash was logged - screen will show To note on screen the user menu is missing if I was using nm-applet it would show no connection available All the other effects/symptoms are also as orig. reported ** Attachment added: Screenshot at 2011-10-04 12:53:37.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/863054/+attachment/2508680/+files/Screenshot%20at%202011-10-04%2012%3A53%3A37.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863054 Title: random login without common admin user permissions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/863054/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 598254] Re: libkrb5support.so.0.1: stackgap.c: undefined reference to `main'
Hello, I don't remember this specific bug. However at some point the krb developers dropped support for static binaries. So diet builds will never work. The solution I used was to use a pre krb4.x source will all it's bugs and security issues, but support for static builds. This produced usable binaries. If there was any interest in supporting a static build of krb then perhaps usable binaries could be upgraded to secure binaries, but in most cases usable is what counts and secure is just some forum button you always just click Yes I understand. [Bug 283316] Re: CD-ROM tray closes automatically after eject
Hello, I thought I'd bump this as it's still vary annoying. What bothers me most about this is that there is some process that is obviously hammering the optical drive with requests. This might not disrupt throughput to/from the drive, but it can't be good for it. I'd like to test with a patched kernel that would hopefully print the PID and/or name of the application responsible. Is there anyone who could write such a patch? Another note is that only the first opdrive is effected, the second on my system operates without issue. I'd like to be able to have the drive auto-close, so disabling this nice feature is not an option for me... even if it where to work around this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283316 Title: CD-ROM tray closes automatically after eject To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/283316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 867737] [NEW] Kubuntu desktop missing dependency on polkit-kde-1
Public bug reported: After installing KDE on regular Ubuntu using apt-get install kubuntu- desktop, I am not able to change any of the system settings requiring administrative privileges due to the lack of the installation of polkit-kde-1. It will fail with an error as described here below with Muon when I expected to be shown a dialogue to enter my password. Also other KDE software is affected. For example, when applying changes in Muon package manager, I get the error This operation cannot continue since proper authorisation was not provided. Installing polkit-kde-1 solves this issue and a proper dialogue is opened to ask for the (sudo) password. Steps to reproduce (example): - Install regular Ubuntu - Install kubuntu-desktop using apt-get - During installation choose KDM as default login manager - Log in in the KDE desktop - Open (for example) System settings - Login Screen. change Appearance, click the Apply button. Expected result: An authorization dialogue shown to enter my password, after which the changed would be applied. Actual result: Error dialogue: This operation cannot continue since proper authorisation was not provided. None of the changes were applied. After manual installation of polkit-kde-1, logging out and logging back in, the result is as expected. My recommendation is to fix the dependencies/recommends of the KDE suite in Ubuntu in order to overcome this usability issue.
