[Bug 906735] Re: package installation should create /var/log/puppet
Hi Kenyon, thanks for reporting. I'm having trouble reproducing your logrotate errors with puppet 2.7.1-1ubuntu3.2 on oneiric. It appears the log directory is in fact created by the puppet-common package, on which both the puppet agent and puppetmaster packages depend on. Without later manually removing /var/log/puppet, I am unable to reproduce. I've also confirmed that the corresponding logrotate config is removed on purge, so it should not be attempting rotation if the package is no longer installed / log directory removed during purge. Can you specify with which version of the puppet package you've hit this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to puppet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/906735 Title: package installation should create /var/log/puppet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/puppet/+bug/906735/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 910845] Re: Message Cannot change the priority of process is displayed with a normal user selects a high priority process
@Jean-Baptiste This is a usability issue which doesn't impact functionality. If it were as simple as that then changing the priority should not in itself alter the ability to recreate the bug. The fact that after changing the priority to normal and then back to very high makes the problem disappear completely seems to indicate that there is something much deeper going on. [Bug 911118] Re: installation crashed
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to install Ubuntu. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing operating system and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [This is an automated message. I was going to check this bug's ranking by searching launchpad by number of comments. Unfortunately that feature of Launchpad is broken! Is this really something for the Wishlist? [Bug 407692] Re: Icon for Transmission does not suggest the program's purpose
I think it's worse than just that the icon doesn't convey the program's purpose: it looks way too much like a flatbed scanner. I appreciate the difficulty in crafting a descriptive visual representation of a BT client, but IMHO an icon should at least be sufficiently unique so as to avoid mistaking it for other apps of completely unrelated purposes. That's where Vuze's frog for example is better (as long as you're not into Frogger clones). I've been running Transmission whenever I'm logged in for years now, and I still occasionally wonder why I have a scanning app running, when in fact it's just Transmission's... I'm-not-sure-what- it-is. I realize this is not a very constructive argument so long as I don't have anything better to suggest in the current icon's place, but I promise I'll start thinking of one right now and hopefully come up with ideas some day. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407692 Title: Icon for Transmission does not suggest the program's purpose To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/humanity/+bug/407692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 888495] Re: Can't compile C++ code: undefined reference to:
There is no associated build log, as prior to version 2.4.x, Armadillo was a pure C++ template library. The examples provided in the archive are not built by default, hence it is impossible to detect the problem at build time. In versions prior to 2.4.x, Armadillo relied on a linking trick that no longer works due to the toolchain update. In version 2.4.x, this trick is no longer used. The associated Armadillo packages in Debian have been fixed and are in the testing stream. Specifically, the fix is in: libarmadillo-dev (1:2.4.2+dfsg-2) and libarmadillo2 (1:2.4.2+dfsg-2) http://packages.debian.org/testing/libarmadillo-dev http://packages.debian.org/testing/libarmadillo2 As such, the armadillo package can now be updated in Ubuntu. ** Changed in: armadillo (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/888495 Title: Can't compile C++ code: undefined reference to: To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/armadillo/+bug/888495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 905622] Re: Mobile broadband fails after dropout
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected oneiric running-unity ** Description changed: My Huawei E1762 modem is the only method I use to connect to the internet. If a dropout occurs (sometime frequently in my location), the modem is no longer recognised by network-manager and I can't reconnect. I have tried sudo restart network-manager and sudo restart modemmanager, this works sometimes after several minutes, but is so inconsistent, it's quicker to simply reboot to get a connect to the web. I have also tried physically pulling the usb modem and reinserting with a combination of the above commands -- nothing seems to work consistently in 11.10. In 11.04, I could run sudo killall modem-manager from a remote desktop and get my network going again. - I'm not sure what logs would help debug this. Advice would be - appreciated, please. + I'm not sure what logs would help debug this.
