[Bug 498022] Re: Need package for php5 without suhosin patch
Debian has no unfortunately dropped suhosin core patches from their php5 packages, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=657698 . Best solution IMHO would be to provide both, packages with the suhosin core patches and without. [Bug 706354] Re: dpkg-maintscript-helper: warning: environment variable DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE missing
Thank you, Linux community, for maintaining a well-oiled operating system for me. I thought back to my MSDOS days, and applied it to UNIX. Here's the solution: 1) CHANGE YOUR GLOBAL VARIABLES /etc/environment - PATH=... DPKG_MAINTVERSION_NAME=Ubuntu DPKG_MAINTVERSION_PACKAGE=[version of Ubuntu] - don't put in the brackets when you fill in version (lucid, maverick, natty, etc). 2) REBOOT IMMEDIATELY. 3) RUN dpkg-reconfigure -a one more time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ntp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/706354 Title: dpkg-maintscript-helper: warning: environment variable DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/706354/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

03:52 stgraber RAOF: hey there 03:53 stgraber RAOF: thanks for accepting the vlan package 03:54 stgraber RAOF: as for the extra delta in the ifenslave-2.6 SRU (one line change for /run + documentation), the idea was that reverting these just for the sake of having a smaller delta isn't probably worth it as indeed the /run change isn't needed (but won't make any change as /run is a symlink /var/run in Oneiric already) and the documentation would just be inaccurate if reverted 03:55 stgraber RAOF: keeping these two changes gives us the advantage of having an identical package in Oneiric and Precise, making diffing the two quite a bit easier (if we start getting more changes in Precise) and so making debugging easier 03:55 RAOF Fair enough. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bridge-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889423 Title: 802.3ad bonding not configured correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bridge-utils/+bug/889423/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 889423] Re: 802.3ad bonding not configured correctly
Here's a quick example of how to test the new vlan package: - Make sure uml-utilities and vlan are installed - Add the following entry to /etc/network/interfaces: auto eth9.1010 iface eth9.1010 inet static address 192.168.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 - Create the tap device: tunctl -t eth9 - Check that the vlan interface has been created and configured correctly: ifconfig eth9.1010 eth9.1010 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr ce:51:62:98:16:78 inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:0.0.0.0 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) Prior to this update, vlan interface creation would be racy as it'd depend on the catch all networking.conf job to initialise eth9.1010 with the race being that this job would be triggered before eth9 actually exists.

[Bug 889585] Re: Audacious is pretty outdated in Ubuntu repositories (new upstream release: audacious 3.2)
The audacious 3.2.1 source used in Precise will compile with Precise's version of libavcodec, you just need to alter the configure configure.ac to reflect current version difference. Tested works just fine here on 12.04, considering Precise is unlikely to use a source newer than 3.2.1 should only take a min. to fix if any one actually cares to. [Bug 791074] Re: blur plugin messes up window shadows
I tried removing the unity plugin, and now the blur plugin works nicely like it always did, as well as window decoration shadows. It seems like there is some issue when both the unity plugin and the blur plugin are loaded in compizconfig. I'm not running a frankenstein configuration that closely matches unity except blur is working correctly. I run unity2d, and then I run compiz --replace (as a startup script). [Bug 922691] Re: Scanner not reconized - Brother DCP-195C
Hi there, thank you for filing this bug and showing your interest in Simple Scan! This seems to be a Hardware Issue, i.e. Simple Scan does not support your scanner perfectly -- or possibly not at all. Unfortunately such problems happen more often then they should, and while it might indeed be a problem with Simple Scan, in our experience, most of the time it is not. This is why we prepared a check-list at [1] that will let you find out whether or not it really is a problem with Simple Scan and what your options are in either case. Please read that list and tell us how you decided to proceed. I will set this bug to Incomplete, so a friendly robot will expire this bug in 60 days if you do not respond. However, we would really prefer to hear back from you! [Bug 923285] [NEW] X freeze with nouveu when doing intensive tasks
Public bug reported: When doing certain tasks, X freezes when nouveau is in use. (nvidia is not used, I know that because switching to a tty is fast and the tty has the right font size). This happens maybe one or two times a day when doing certain tasks. This time I changed the display settings in xfce4-display settings: rotation from 'normal' to 'left' (just to try what would happen). Also starting Opera sometimes causes the system to freeze (Opera uses hardware acceleration AFAIK). It also happens sometimes that revealing the launcher in Unity causes the system to freeze. Symptoms: * Mouse still works, but clicking has no effect * keyboard doesn't work, not even the Caps Lock key. Switching to another TTY thus doen't work * I can log in via SSH, although that is very slow. This way I have collected the bug information (via apport-cli -f) * It happens in both Unity and XFCE with Compiz enabled. $ dpkg --list | grep nvidia\|nouveau\|mesa ii libdrm-nouveau1a2.4.26-1ubuntu1 Userspace interface to nouveau-specific kernel DRM services -- runtime ii libdrm-nouveau1a:i386 2.4.26-1ubuntu1 Userspace interface to nouveau-specific kernel DRM services -- runtime ii libgl1-mesa-dri 7.11-0ubuntu3 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- DRI modules ii libgl1-mesa-glx 7.11-0ubuntu3 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX runtime rc libgl1-mesa-glx:i3867.11-0ubuntu3 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX runtime ii libglapi-mesa 7.11-0ubuntu3 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library rc libglapi-mesa:i386 7.11-0ubuntu3 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library ii libglu1-mesa7.11-0ubuntu3 Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii mesa-utils 8.0.1+git20110129+d8f7d6b-0ubuntu2 Miscellaneous Mesa GL utilities ii nvidia-common 1:0.2.35 Find obsolete NVIDIA drivers rc nvidia-current-updates 280.13-0ubuntu5 NVIDIA binary Xorg driver, kernel module and VDPAU library ii nvidia-settings-updates 280.13-0ubuntu1 Tool of configuring the NVIDIA graphics driver ii xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20110411+8378443-1 X.Org X server -- Nouveau display driver (experimental) $lspci | grep VGA 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C77 [GeForce 8200] (rev a2) ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923285 Title: X freeze with nouveu when doing intensive tasks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/923285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 923285] Re: X freeze with nouveu when doing intensive tasks
Note: I first used Nvidia but found it buggy (redraw glitches, font in tty too big etc.). Then I switched to nouveau and that caused freezes. Then back to Nvidia and again to nouveau (by removing the nvidia- current-updates package). The propriteary drives don't crash for me. I haven't installed libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923285 Title: X freeze with nouveu when doing intensive tasks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/923285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
