[Bug 626080] Re: yama.py crashed with DBusException in call_blocking()
fltorres180466yanes, I have the exact same problems as you (running a fully updated 12.04 installation). The shutdown problems are especially worrying. Google translation of fltorres180466yanes' posts for others who don't speak Spanish: - Often applications are closed when running, the instability of these is almost permanent. Also I have problems shutting down the computer from time to time: it remains on the screen, and will not let me off the computer, unless you reset. - The applet window Yama Awn launcher fails again and again in the same, and even crashes shortly after startup. - -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626080 Title: yama.py crashed with DBusException in call_blocking() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/awn-extras-applets/+bug/626080/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 985334] [NEW] Cannot Open With > Others
Public bug reported: I just branched the ubuntu developer site project to see if I could improve it. Wanting to have a look at one of the php files, I clicked it in Firefox, it asked me if I wanted to save or open it in GEdit. I didn't want to use GEdit, so I chose to Open With > Others. [Bug 985323] Re: package linux-image-3.2.0-23-generic 3.2.0-23.36 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-23.36 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985323 Title: package linux-image-3.2.0-23-generic 3.2.0-23.36 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/985323/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 985326] [NEW] Pen-in on non-core tablet -> Xorg segfault
Public bug reported: Trying to troubleshoot a problem with Inkscape, I added Option "SendCoreEvents" "false" to my xorg.conf and logged out and back in. When I moved the pen in range of the screen to test to make sure the InputClass was taking, X promptly crashed. And then would crash immediately on trying to restart it. I had to reboot to get X back, and found that putting the pen anywhere near the screen would cause the crash and force me to reboot again. [Bug 841259] Re: Crashes with "invalid opcode: 0000"
I had the same problem -- virtualbox kept crashing "soon" -- (NOHZ=off seemed to help some, but I'm not sure if its real or anecdotal). I was running ubuntu 11.10 oneiric. I updated to: 3.0.0-17 vbox 4.1.2 and it happens less often (I can get some work done) -- but still happens occassionally. [Bug 985199]
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/985199/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 908203] Re: GRUB2 fails to install on Lenovo IdeaPad V570-1066AJU
Same laptop. Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04 beta both will go through their installation routines from desktop livecds just fine, then fail to boot at all from the hard drive. Linux Mint 12 will install just fine from its livecd, then the installation will boot just fine from the hard drive upon reboot ( everything works as expected ). There is something weird about this Lenovo model's bios and hard disk related to GPT partition table vs ms-dos partition table, and it makes life difficult for the Ubuntu installer to correctly figure out whether to install grub-pc, grub2, or grub-efi, IF anecdotal Googling about this issue is to be believed. IIRC, the Mint installer is just a tweaked version of Ubuntu's. [Bug 984404] Re: e1000e driver failed with error -3
Ok, after two years there is a BIOS update with small changes. But they don't refer to interrupt settings. Will try it later this week. BTW, I just tried Knoppix v7 with Kernel 3.2.4 and e1000e driver version 1.5.1-k. This does not show the issue. It seems newer driver versions have a solution built-in. Maybe 10.04 deserves a back-port of that fix, because other systems seem to suffer from the same issue. Anders, I'm not entirely sure that is the same issue. I've tried an affected openssl s_client on a few of the other noted servers from other comments on the bug, and they are not failing.
