[Bug 1019903] Re: nautilus crashes at random times
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1019903 Title: nautilus crashes at random times To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1019903/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1019994] [NEW] pam_ssh has been removed
Public bug reported: The package is effectively orphaned in Debian and Ubuntu. Debian package maintainer Jens Peter Secher retired in since July 2011 (see https://nm.debian.org/public/person/jps). In December 2012 the package was removed from Debian unstable because of looking abandoned and has multiple problems. Package has low popcon so Debian developers decide not to support it any further. I'm trying to update the package to a new upstream version 1.97 in my bazaar branch, but there is a need to update Debian patches for a new version. I'm not PAM expert, and it's hard for me to decide if some patch was superseded by upstream changes or not. Also I'm afrait to introduce severe security bugs because of lack of knowledge. Currently, package is in works for me state, but it is updated to upstream version 1.97 and all debian patches on top of 1.92 disabled because of conflicts. Brach uploaded to launchpad, and packages for precise available in my PPA. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid. Specifically, you don't have squid configuration files in /etc/squid3, so the squid3 upgrade could not complete. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. Yes, this bug is fixed, the warning is gone from the terminal. The warning however never bothered me but the constant crashes with the proposed package do. I read in the linked guide: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification , that If you encounter a regression in a package that has been uploaded to *-proposed, please:: step 5: Set the verification-failed tag on the corresponding SRU bug report. [Bug 1019289] Re: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.24-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid. Specifically, during the upgrade you used your modified version of my.cnf rather than the package's version, so errors from this point may be due to your custom configuration rather than a bug in the package. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: mysql-5.5 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: mysql-5.5 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1019289 Title: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.24-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.5/+bug/1019289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1020005] [NEW] OpenJDK crashes in glXCreateWindow

[Bug 1020017] [NEW] [SRU] Backport 2.33-1 to precise
Public bug reported: The updates from 2.32-2 to 2.33-1 are important for app developers, as they are still targetting precise and will do so for a longer while. Therefore it will be interesting to backport 2.33-1 to precise. The following changes are going into this update: - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering binary files with Python 3. (LP: #995653) - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering an UTF-8 Python source code file. - debian/local/python-mkdebian cleanups: (LP: #706051) - Don't use {XS, XB}-Python-Version. - Generate an up to date Standards-Version. - Generate build dep on debhelper (= 8) as debian/compat is set to '8' and debhelper overrides are used. - No need to generate a build dep on cdbs. - debian/local/python-mkdebian: For projects using --prefix, install binaries into a .../bin/ subdirectory instead of into the main project directory. This avoids potential name collisions with local Python modules. Thanks to Michael Terry for the patch! - debian/local/python-mkdebian: Create copyright format 1.0 compatible copyright files. Thanks Andrew Starr-Bochicchio! (LP: #1002379) - debian/copyright: Update to copyright 1.0 format. - debian/control: Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.3. - python-mkdebian: Fix wrong kde4 ui file detection regular expression. Thanks Angelo Compagnucci! (LP: #1002076) This will give us many more cleaner apps in Ubuntu. ** Affects: python-distutils-extra (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: python-distutils-extra (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: python-distutils-extra (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1020017 Title: [SRU] Backport 2.33-1 to precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-distutils-extra/+bug/1020017/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1019662] Re: foomatic fails when printing from OSX client, bash error [arg length ???]
I have the exact same problem, but with a different scenario ; I just connected a new printer on my system ; (canon C5030i). All is working well except when I print PDF files from evince, where it fails with the exact same messages previously reported. (that is, bash problem /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed) The funny part is that printint PDF is OK with adobe reader OR okular. So the PDF handling is probably different between evince and the rest. Don't know how this lead to the very same bug of printing PDF from a remote apple computer ? Re: [Bug 794112] Kerberos + LDAP + NFSv4 on Natty - Unable to recover unattended client
Le 1 juil. 2012 à 17:14, Dominic Gross a écrit : The Kernel posted by Chris allows, (with console login), the user to unlock the screensaver Well, this seems to fix the original bug reported here. Which is that nobody can log in using LDAP / Kerberos once a ticket of one signed in user expired. yes it is. but applications, such like web browser, remains stuck and the session has to be restarted in order to work properly. This looks like the intended behavior to me. The user's Kerberos Ticket expires some time after log in. At that point the applications can no longer access the user's NFS home directory and the applications get stuck or crash. Once a user enters his / her password again a new ticket is granted and the user can log into the session /access the home directory again. However, in my experience few applications fully recover from not being able to access the home directory for a longer time. It wasn't the behaviour before rpc.gssd returns EKEYEXPIRED. Ce filesystem was fully accessible to the users apps even if they got stuck for days … It seems correct to me that the filesystem remains unaccessible until the user unlock the screensaver … for obvious security purpose (implementing an auto refresh, just like you said, seems to me like a security breach). However, it would be nice to have a way to get the former behaviour which allows user to get back his session without relogging and ,at the same time, don't give system access to the user FS even when the user is gone away. So, it seems to me, that in order to fix this remaining issue one needs to set up something to automatically renew Kerberos Tickets. This can be implemented either via a cronjob or packages like kstart or sssd. [Bug 392204] Re: Huge CPU usage by mount.ntfs process
I have the same problem (running Wubi with Ubuntu 12.04) and it's rendering my computer virtually unusable. I have also had this problem on a different computer running Wubi with Ubuntu 11.10. I have been using Wubi with Ubuntu 11.04 on the same machine with no problems in the past. All have been clean installs (i.e. not upgraded from previous versions). My version of ntfs-3g is ntfs-3g 2012.1.15AR.5 integrated FUSE 27 (though the problem has existed for other versions after Ubuntu 11.04). mount.ntfs appears to run whenever write-to-hard-drive is occurring. Additionally, it blocks most applications from running (presumably as they all eventually need to read/write to HDD), resulting in greying out of the application window for a few minutes. It's especially problematic when doing 1MB file operations (e.g. installing packages with apt-get). The Windows install is barely used, so it's unlikely to be highly fragmented. I have tried various things mentioned in this thread to no effect (I came unstuck with the suggestion to backport ntfs-3g as Ubuntu refused to backport fuse/fuse-utils for some reason). I agree that it's bizarre that this bug has persisted for so long without a fix, especially since (in my experience) it make Wubi unuseable. I suspect that my solution will eventually be to give up on Wubi and create a new partition for Ubuntu, but it's frustrating that I'd have to do this when previous versions have worked fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392204 Title: Huge CPU usage by mount.ntfs process To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ntfs-3g/+bug/392204/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Where should we move from here? ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #679251 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679251 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995886 Title: browse/import photos from camera broken in 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/995886/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1020027] [NEW] Alt-backtick should leave current window at the top of the stack *while* switching
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 1) Have 3 or more windows open from one application. 2) Press alt-backtick (alt-`) twice. (That is, hold alt, press-and-release backtick twice, then release alt.) Expected behaviour: The third-highest window should move to the top of the stack and be activated. Rationale: This is observed when you do the same thing with alt-tab; the third-highest application is activated. Observed behaviour: The initial top-most window is reselected. N.B. This happens whether you press alt-backtick quickly or slowly. For a rapid press, I would expect the alt-tab switcher not to pop up visually, although it does. This issue relates to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/987156 This bug occurs because unity immediately moves the top-most window to the second position in the stack (as observed from the alt-tab switcher thumbnails). That is, if the windows are initially ordered as #1, #2, and #3, then the alt-tab switcher shows them as #2, #1, #3. The initial alt-backtick then selects the top-most of this stack, which is now #2. This is counter-intuitive not only because of the bug described here, but also because until alt has been released, the switch has not occurred yet. The behaviour of the alt-tab switcher is more intuitive, where the #1, #2, #3 order is maintained, but the selection begins at the second-highest application. This bug means the selection of other windows is counter-intuitive, and (for windows lower than #2) requires an extra key-press. i.e.: 1 × alt-backtick = select window #2 (as expected) 2 × alt-backtick = select window #1 (expect selection of window #3) 3 × alt-backtick = select window #3 (expect selection of window #4) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: unity 5.12-0ubuntu1.1 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-030500rc4-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, imgpng, move, snap, place, session, unitymtgrabhandles, vpswitch, mousepoll, resize, gnomecompat, wall, regex, grid, animation, expo, workarounds, fade, scale, ezoom, unityshell] Date: Mon Jul 2 19:31:28 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Release amd64 (20111012) SourcePackage: unity UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-04-29 (64 days ago) ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1020027 Title: Alt-backtick should leave current window at the top of the stack *while* switching To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1020027/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1020017] Re: [SRU] Backport 2.33-1 to precise
** Description changed: The updates from 2.32-2 to 2.33-1 are important for app developers, as they are still targetting precise and will do so for a longer while. Therefore it will be interesting to backport 2.33-1 to precise. The following changes are going into this update: - - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering binary files with Python 3. - (LP: #995653) - - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering an UTF-8 Python source code file. - - debian/local/python-mkdebian cleanups: (LP: #706051) - - Don't use {XS, XB}-Python-Version. - - Generate an up to date Standards-Version. - - Generate build dep on debhelper (= 8) as debian/compat is set to '8' - and debhelper overrides are used. - - No need to generate a build dep on cdbs. - - debian/local/python-mkdebian: For projects using --prefix, install - binaries into a .../bin/ subdirectory instead of into the main project - directory. This avoids potential name collisions with local Python - modules. Thanks to Michael Terry for the patch! - - debian/local/python-mkdebian: Create copyright format 1.0 compatible - copyright files. Thanks Andrew Starr-Bochicchio! (LP: #1002379) - - debian/copyright: Update to copyright 1.0 format. - - debian/control: Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.3. - - python-mkdebian: Fix wrong kde4 ui file detection regular expression. - Thanks Angelo Compagnucci! (LP: #1002076) + - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering binary files with Python 3. + (LP: #995653) + - auto.py: Fix crash when encountering an UTF-8 Python source code file. + - debian/local/python-mkdebian cleanups: (LP: #706051) + - Don't use {XS, XB}-Python-Version. + - Generate an up to date Standards-Version. + - Generate build dep on debhelper (= 8) as debian/compat is set to '8' + and debhelper overrides are used. + - No need to generate a build dep on cdbs. + - debian/local/python-mkdebian: For projects using --prefix, install + binaries into a .../bin/ subdirectory instead of into the main project + directory.
